Call In The Cavalry

By The Shys.. I have mentioned my love of soundtracks before (I think).. Anyways! This song is off of the 'Prom Night' soundtrack which I initially bought for Ben Taylor's cover of 'Time of the Season'.. But also fell in love with some other tunes, such as this one.. This is probably my second fave track off of the album.. Click To Enlarge Look familiar? I did a look a little while back called 'Pink Insanity' based off of a youtube vid.. Now I bring you 'Turqouise Insanity'.. I sadly applied top coat pretty quickly and without thinking on my thumb, so some of the design was dragged /tear. BUT. I think it will be ok for a few days. I have a dishwashing shift on Sunday anyways. I always forget to snap a quick photo of what I use.. I should really start doing that.. It was CG Custom Kicks as well as white and black silkline and some large gems that I had just collecting dust. Concert tomorrow evening! EEEEE! So excited!! I hope everyone has a super awes

Random Tip

No, not a song title.. I will save those for nail polish posts.. This post is just a random tip! So, my mother was watching 'Oprah' the other day and Dr. Oz (I hope that is the correct name..) came on and was giving 'beauty tips'. ANYWAYS! The one my mom paid closer attention to was the one about foot care. If you have rough skin on the bottom of your feet, or even worse, the white flakey/chalky skin (I was closer to this category, gross, I know!) What you need to get rid of the yucky whiteness is use Oxy/Stridex/Clearasil pads (any that have the 2% salicylic acid - which is pretty much all of them..), vaseline or cocao butter and some socks. -Start off with a clean foot (preferrably) and swip all over with the pad -Slather on your vaseline or cocao butter -Slap on a sock -Repeat to other foot I have been doing this for five days now.. And HUGE difference. I spend a lot of time on my feet/walking around, especially with work and everything else. I really never think twi

Lazy Sunday

The Chronicles of Narnia rap by Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell. Seriously, it is hilarious AND amazing! Anywho, just a quick update before I scuttle off to work (bleh - but it is my last shift for a little while!) I decided that I wasn't too happy with my last look, so pretty much after posting about it, I removed the polish and did this look instead.. The second picture obviously sucks, BUT! The reason I tossed it in there is because that shows *almost* the correct shade of pink. It is bright, not quite the neon CG, but I cannot remember the colour name right now.. The white is OPI Alpine Snow, the black is from the silkline nail art pen, same with the silver glitter. Well, I better run! Take care!!

Baby, It's You

By Smith. It is from the 'Death Proof' soundtrack.. I swear Quentin Tarantino either has the greatest music selector ever or he himself is beyond amazing. I LOVE pretty much all the soundtracks to his movies. /endfangirlrant. Sooo yesterday was a lazy day. Technically it is my 'weekend' right now. Finally around 5pm after getting out of a reading coma, I decided that I have given my nails a lengthly rest period and wanted to paint them again. Yesterday it was all gloomy annnnd I went with a darker polish look.. It is CG Joy, which is an amazing colour all on its own, but then I decided to bust out one of the two konad plates I have.. I think this was more of a test then anything else.. I didn't know whether I wanted the flower more so on the side or filling the nail - too many decisions!! Ahh well, I might just end up changing things tonight. It is sunny and will be sunny for the rest of the week/end!! Then I was playing with settings on my camera (I have had it ove

America's Suitehearts

Well, it isn't just THAT song, it is the South Rakkas Remix. A random fact, I always promised my sister that if they (being Fall Out Boy) ever came even remotely close to Saskatoon, I would get us concert tickets. On August 1 we will see them in concert, and we don't even have to travel as they are coming HERE! Yay! Anyways, on with the nail stuff eh. As I have mentioned in a few posts, I have been taking a lot of shifts within the dishpit at work (I kind of like doing dishes.. weirdo I know) but I do them with nail polish on most of the time. Sometimes it stays on, other times I can peel it off no big deal. I figured this had to do with the yellowing of my nails, but the same thing is happening to my sister. We were not impressed considering we use base coat and everything.. One of our coworkers figured it was because we take off our polish, we repaint with something else. That is moreso true about my sister, I usually wait a day or two if I have no work/nothing important to d

Who Can It Be Now?

I think I have decided that my 'titles' can be whatever tune I am listening to while posting. Who doesn't love the 80s? And Men At Work for that matter. ANYWAYS! I haven't been painting my nails toooo much lately.. Mostly because the shifts I have been taking at work have been as the dishwasher (do not get me wrong, loooove it!) after tomorrow evening I will probably "treat" myself by designing them to be nice again. I have managing shifts for the next week and a half? SOLID! This was a cover up.. I tried to do this one design, but the colours didn't contrast enough.. So I covered the steely-purple colour with 'OMG' and added some black stripes. Nothing fun or exciting, just something to make it through a shift.. that turned into dishwashing anyways. Meh! Oh, and this make-up forums I belong to is having a nail competition with the theme being 'Secret Garden', so this is my entry.. It would be nice to win. We shall see though.. Whelp, t

Pink Insanity

Sorrrry I have not updated in a while. Work really kicked my butt the last five days and I have been exhausted and working in the dish pit (by choice) so no nail polish. BUT! I do have a photo to share of the last look I had done before the dishwashing shifts started: I actually really like how I took this photo as well.. Now to just figure out how I did it and always recreate it. Heh. (Click on the photo for a larger image). I also came across this website that has mini-tutorials on nail designs. I actually stumbled upon it because I was looking for ideas for this contest. I did a design, but now looking at the photos, not too sure if I am happy with it. My sister said it looked great, but I don't know. I wish some other people would enter already so I could gauge what I am up against (everyone probably has the same idea) - or maybe I can post mine and then change it later? I dunno.. So on the fence right now!! Anywho, time to catch up on some blog reading. Take care! Edit: What
