Stop Crying Your Heart Out

By Oasis... Another sigh-worthy song. I absolutely love this song - I sing it quite often, haha!

This weekend has been extra awesome! Friday night the 'crew' from work decided to have a bowling night.. We didn't have as many people as usual - but we had some old favourites show up.. Plus added drama at the bowling alley - who knew eh? That all was really great, but what tops that is that one of my good friends and co-workers returned from her 3 month work stint in Victoria, BC. So happy to have her home!

It was great to spend hours with her before we went bowling, but what was even more awesome was that she was really excited to give me a gift (ok, my sister and I!).. Anyways..

SERIOUSLY! Look at these! Aren't they gorrrrgeous?! She was chuckling as I was basically drooling over them. She was at a market (apparently they have tons in Victoria, so it was either there or Seattle.. not *quite* sure) and saw these polishes and figured we would love them (and we do!) she said she spent forever choosing colours for us! Such a sweetheart!

*Side Note*: My sister and I were laughing because my camera apparently didn't like 'Passion Pink' - every photo I snapped was blurry-ish on my camera just of that polish. So now I figure it will be all 'Final Destination'ish and I will die in some freak nail polish incident when I use it. Heh. I am a dork.

I have decided to dedicate my next few polish-doings to these gems. I pulled the yellow out of the bag first, so I figure that will be the one I use first.

I am not super happy with this look, but I am not that upset by it either.. Again, forgot cleanup before photos - I will learn, I promise!

I think the consistantcy of the 'Neon Yellow' and 'Power Up' are similar.. I had to put three coats on before it stopped being too see-through.. I think with 'Power Up' I will toss on a coat of white before hand..

Also, 'Marine Life' didn't photograph properly with flash or without.. It is a darker more turqoise-ish colour.. Hopefully when I do a look with it, it will show up better.

Well, I spose I should go pass out for a bit before my shift. Two more then a few days off! And excellent movies are released on to DVD this Tuesday - YAY!

That's a funny story about the freak polish accident! Your friend has good taste. She chose some nice colors. Love your nail art work. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
