My Secret Santa

Hello everyone!!

I am pretty shocked that I am actually able to concentrate long enough already to snap a photo and to try and make this post! I hope it makes sense, fingers crossed!

So, I have been pretty sick lately, not like coughy-sneezy-etc (ok, a little bit!), but I have had an extreme headache since last Thursday evening. My mom and I finally called this 'Hospital Hotline' because we were all getting a bit worried. According to the nurse, I probably have H1N1, but if I came into the hospital, I would be sitting for hours, and if it wasn't exactly what I had, then I would either have it, or if I did have it, I'd be passing it around. AWESOME (not really).

I have been told to self-isolate.. So, other than being around my family, who has already been exposed, I am not welcome around other people. I have missed four days of work. My head hurts, my eyes cry on their own, my body feels like it got hit by a semi, etc. Blah. Although, for a 'flu', I don't mind this.. I am not a fan of the whole upchucking deal. I find that when the head pain starts to take over, I just close my eyes for a few, it wards off the pain for awhile. Or I have to use strong meds to stop the pain and put myself to sleep!

I have been extremely careful about everything I do though.. Sanitizing everything, frequent handwashing, having my own towel to dry my hands, etc. So far my family seems to be doing well, which is super good!

ANYWAYS! This isn't a post to just talk about what a disease-bag I am, it is to talk about MY SECRET SANTA.. From elfster of course :D

I awoke to find a package sitting on my dresser, looked at the sender, and was super excited!! I actually cracked a smile, it hurt, but was totally worth it!!

If I am not mistaken, she is Theresia of Amused Polish.. And what she sent is AMAZING!!

I received:

3 nail polish (Essence Colour & Go in 'Disco Glam'; S-he Stylezone in 'Aqua Shine'; and a franken called 'Grass Is Always Greener' which I am extremely excited about!!!);

An adorable lip blam from Claire's - the flavour/scent is Cookie Dough!

An Essence stamping kit! That is really awesome to me because it is something I have never heard about! AND! The plate is amazing! It has stars! I seriously almost screamed when I saw it - but decided not to, my brain is shatterable I believe.

Oh, and these candies.. That are fizzy and sour and wonderful!!

Thank you thank you thank you! I cannot wait to try out these gems!!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
