Casey's Song

By City & Colour. I like to think that my iTunes shuffler really seems to know me. I have been listening to tunes for the past hour and it has played more slow tempo-saddish songs for me. Because it knows how blah I feel. Dallas Green is a super talented artist.. City & Colour is his solo work, and it is really great. Have a listen!!

So this demon illness that I have has changed its course. I figured it was a sinus infection due to the fact that my head felt like it was going to explode. Now it isn't so much about my nasal area but my throat. Which worries me the most. If I get a head cold and stop it before it gets to my throat area, I'm in the clear. Fingers crossed for laryngitis or brochitis.. I am not interested in pneumonia right now.

I know I should be resting, but I was asleep for 12+ hours already. I spose I could go read.. Have a new book, yay!

Oh riiiight.. Nail polish!! Just a quick photo of a quick look that I put together so that my nails wouldn't be nekkid during work yesterday.

Yes, that is the 'broken' thumb nail.. It is lame because no matter how much SH Hard As Nails I put on, that little part is.. squishy? Mainly because it isn't really nail. Urgh! Ahh well.. This look is just CG Liquid Leather and CG Doll House. I am kind of in love with this glitter polish!! Later today I will try that aluminium foil way to take off glitter polishes.

I hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday!

  • gildedangel - It doesn't really hurt, it just sucks! I guess I will have to wait for my nail to grow out a bit then cut it so that it is all nail. The waiting game is no fun!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
