I'm On A Boat

By The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain. Wow.. I just opened iTunes so I could click the play button to see what my title would be.. And it chose this. The reason for the wow? My nails are blue.. Blue.. Water.. Haha.. Ugh! I have been up since 8am.

Yesterday after I finished posting, I decided to remove my last look because it was so badly chipped and basically illegal. As I was removing the polish, I was looking at some of my nails.. They have some splits on the sides and one of them had this weird break that basically made it look like rolling hills. Anyways, I got crazy with the clippers. Goodbye nails! New Year, fresh start? Right? Yeah, I'm going to go with that.

I am not overly impressed with my work here, but I am so happy to be back in the nail painting saddle again. It feels better. I feel better! FINALLY! I think I can hear a hallelujah choir behind me.

Photo time!

And, because my nail paintage wasn't the greatest, I will toss in two photos to up the 'cuteness' factor on here.

These are our new pets - they are degus and their names are Bennie (bottom) & Jet (top). They are lovely little creatures. My mother, sister and myself stopped into this petstore one night.. just to look around.. And we saw these two. We instantly fell in love, but we didn't really need any new pets. After we got back into the car, we all looked at each and pulled back up to the entrance of the store. It was well after 9pm, so they were closed and the employees were all going home, but we told them we would be back. It had to be these brothers, or none. We found a cage, bought a bunch of treats/supplies, and got them. Coming up with names was the hardest part.. Then we were up with them.. And I said 'What about Bennie and Jet?' - they work perfectly - except Bennie is like a Jet and Jet is more calm like a Bennie. Phew, enough story hey? Oh, just one more thing. I am sad that Bennie is missing some of his tail (his mother probably got a hold of it when he was a baby) but at least we can tell them apart!!

Oh, and something new! I decided that since you lovelies take the time to comment, that I should take the time to acknowledge you.. You're all the reason I came back. Thank you all.

  • gildedangel - Thank you! I agree with you, the first one in that post was my fave as well!!
  • Lucy - Thank you doll - it is great to be back!! My skin has been pretty brutal, even my prescribed 'lotion' isn't working. I actually tried some Aveeno lotion again the other night, and my hands are hand-model quality.. Well.. almost. heh. AND! You'll have to let me know what you got in your order!!
  • Doo - Thank you - that one is my fave as well! I am glad you like that polish - it is amazing! I decided to order one other suede (or it might have been two..) but I really like them!!
  • Skye - Thankies (:

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
