My Quick 11:45pm Shop Attack

I know.. No music title post.. Geez!!

Only because I just updated iTunes and need to restart before I do anything else.. And then I would be picking the song title manually and that is just not fair at all!!

Last night when I got off of work, my brother picked me up and was like 'We have to run to Shoppers'.. HEY! No problemo.. I love that place! So after my marathon shopping the other day and not picking up a single polish.. I of course went down the polish aisle of the store.. They still had their Insta-Dri polishes on for $3.. I nabbed two of them + a 60 Second Top Coat by Rimmel.. Thought I would give it a whirl..

Now, we know I am not one for swatching new polishes.. Plus I am already wearing my Russian Navy Unsuede-i-fied polish action. SO! I rigged something up.. And this was the best photo I could come up with..

Not the greatest.. But I tried! Both of these have 2 quick coats.. Green is my favourite colour, so I obviously love this one.. But it was Uptempo Plum that caught my eye at the store first.. Deep plum-purple with tiny light purple flecks? PERFECT!

Now on to what I am currently sporting..

I love this polish.. But I decided to add a top coat this time to totally change it up.. Not going to lie.. I am kind of in love with it. I got tons of compliments on it at work.. And I didn't even do a design this time! I think it is because it is all shimmery and gorgeous.

Whelp, time to stop procrastinating and actually do some cleaning up around here. 6 cages.. here I come!

Have a whimsical Wednesday all (:

  • gildedangel - Trust me, it was difficult! I did actually look at some polishes in certain places, but the prices are so weird at all these different shops. I would be like 'this is a terrible price!' next place would be even worse and so the day went on. Don't get me wrong, I honestly do not care about price too much, but why would I pay $11 for a drugstore polish.. Might just be me, heh!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
