Renegade

By Styx. This is probably one of my favourite tunes of all time. I am not entirely sure why.. But it is!

Yesterday I had painted my nails purple ala OPI A Grape Fit! And then added black stars on each nail.. Then went off to a hockey game with my lovely mitts on.. When I took them off? The stars were taking bites (seriously) out of the lining in my mitts. I was not impressed. Although I loved how it looked.. I think it would be more suitable for summer as the little stars won't try to nom on everything!!

After I removed the look (sorry, I didn't even snap a photo :\) I decided that I should paint my nails with one of my new polishes.. Sooo.. Grey seemed like a good colour choice to me. Kind of fits my mood as of late. ORLY Mirror, Mirror was selected.. But me being me.. I couldn't just leave my nails as polish without some sort of embellishment..

I went through my nail art folder.. It is huuuuge!! And found this image:

I loved the little floral details.. Reminded me of Old Wallpaper.. So.. Old Wallpaper was born. I also decided to try using acrylic paint and a paintbrush for this.. And I have to say, I absolutely loved this method! I think I will have to buy a set of mini acrylic paints just for my nail art purposes!!

Here are the photos.. I even included a shot of my right hand.. I have to say that using a paintbrush was really weird! I don't have a problem with a polish brush on nails or a paintbrush on canvas, but this one threw me off.. Some practice is needed..

Luckily I keep looking at my left hand, haha! Not entirely sure why, but I absolutely LOVE this look.

Well, thankies for stopping by - have a wonderful Wednesday!!

  • gildedangel - Thank you! I thought it would be kind of fun.
  • Velvet - Thank you.. I am slowly starting to feel not so terribad! And I think it looks pretty nice as well (:

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you

Countdown to Halloween 2017: Gross Nails

Hey everyone! Not sure what else to call these.. other than gross.. these are the nails I imagine some sadistic swamp-dwelling mother of mutants to have.. yeah, that. Who knew breaking up fake nails would make them so sharp! Fun! That is all for today! See you tomorrow!
