Two of Hearts

By Stacey Q.. My enjoyment of soundtracks has come up a time or three.. And here it is again. This is from the Hot Rod soundtrack.. It is used for a punch-dance inspired scene that I never get bored of! A fun dancey kind of song. Visit the music player off to the side to hear it if you're interested at all!! **Edit: Apparently mixpod doesn't have the song.. Plus I might have already named one of my blogs this.. whoops!**

Sooo.. I bought (a replacement) bottle of SH Insta-Dri polish in 'Lightning' the other night.. I was getting sick of not having my go to yellow anymore..

But what to do with it? I was just going to do this cute look with alternating black and yellow nails with the yellow nails having black dots.. Then I rememberd the 'Insert-colour-name-here Insanity' looks..

A quick reminder:

Thus, my current mani was born:

I really am trying to get back into the groove.. My skills are a bit lackluster still, but I'm trying!! I will probably have to re-do them either tomorrow or Sunday evening at the latest.

The idea originally comes from a youtuber by the name of LOVE4NAILS, she posts video designs weekly, so make sure you check her out if you haven't done so already. Also, I know what I do isn't exactly like hers, but this is my take on them.. It works for me (:
For now I am going to relax and probably head to my bed to continue my reading of 'The Lovely Bones'. I spent 6 and a half hours out shopping today (I know, crazy) - want to know the CRAZIEST part though? I didn't buy any nail polish!! BAH! What is wrong with me? Oh well, my craving of nail polish should be satiated this week (Transdesign order countdown!!). Phew. Loooong day!!

I hope everyone had a FANTABULOUS (yes, I did say fantabulous) Friday and will have themselves a WARM weekend (I say warm because apparently we're going to warm up to -7C, which is about 19F.. better than this -30 business, bleh).

  • gildedangel - Thank you doll!! I adore them!! I actually bought them a new toy to play with again.. Although I keep buying them toys with bells on them which they love to ring at all hours of the night. I am not complaining though! And thank you, I don't really have a problem with short nails, I love them, I just get mellow about them sometimes because I'll have this beautiful long nails and one will break and there goes all that growing out work!!

How did you manage to shop for over six hours without getting polish? I have to physically avoid the nail polish aisle(there is half an aisle dedicated soley to NP) to not buy any!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
