Dee's Polish

The other day my dad was saying that the CD I made for him a few years ago is finally starting to skip, so I imported all the songs and burnt him a new disc.. I forgot how many awesome tunes that CD had - one of them happened to be this gem. I fist pumped!   Soooo... Last night during the hockey game (Go Canada!!) I decided I would work on my nails during intermissions.. And I also decided that it was time to give OPI Jade Is The Black a go. MY GOODNESS!! I FREAKIN' LOVE THIS SHADE.. with my skintone that is. Plus it is in the green family and greens, plural, are my favourite colours/shade family in general.   I just didn't know what to do with my nails.. I mean, JITNB is gorgeous on its own, but that is so not me. Which made me grab another green that I adore, Orly Mint Mojito.. Finally huh.. I posted my Readers Challenge a few posts back, and I actually got a challenge from Tier asking for cupcake nails. I posted a picture of what I had come up with, and she liked it, so onwards I went with the tutorial. I had planned to do this awhile back, but work got all crazy.. Intestinal flu for all.. Good times (sarcasm!) Anyways, I apologize for the picture quality. I am looking into constructing a light box to see if that will help. I think it should. And there was a slight mishap which I will explain once we arrive at that point.                       Here is where the problem happened. I was allowing the nail some drying time before I would pop it onto my own nail to snap a photo.. My nail painting station/art station is in a very bad spot aka the floor.. I used them and I love the idea of making your own, but I ended up taking off the look because I absolutely hated it. It was almost 11pm the night before (I had to work at 7:15am) but I needed to have my nails painted.. So.. These gems were born. I am suuuuper sorry I didn't get a better photo of these.. I loved The Killers album Hot Fuss, but have been less than thrilled about their last two.. Which is upsetting, but I still have Hot Fuss to go off of, and there isn't one song that I skip through when I listen to the whole album - that is always a good sign!! Reader Challenge.. I can hear a you all asking ‘what is the reader challenge?’.. Well, I am not so sure it is a challenge, but more so for some reader input! The Challenge is for my lovely readers out there (yes, you!). Have you ever come across a nail art image that you are too scared to try/just don’t know how to go about doing it? WELL! I will try it out for you. I can post up tutorial pictures of how I went about doing it so that you can either just see it done (to the best of my ability) or learn some easy routes to trying it out yourself. I don’t believe in difficult methods. I think things should be simple yet effective. In my perfect world (aka my mind) I feel being ‘challenged’ at least once a week would be great, but I’ll settle for every once in awhile. I know.. Not a song title.. Actually, it could be, but if it is, I have never met this tune!! I used the title 'poster sale' because I went to a poster sale this morning with my sister. The university here holds an annual poster sale.. I have never gone and neither has my sister.. And she REALLY wanted to scope it out. So I agreed to go with her.. And it was AH-MAH-ZING! I quickly snapped some photos of my purchases.. But first I will show you my nails.. I wanted to use OPI Mad As A Hatter, but wasn't entirely sure how.. So I went accent nail. This was boring to me, so I added a diagonal stripe of MAAH.. And silver tape.. The tape came off before I went to sleep last night.. I didn't even snap a photo because I was so angry. I was even angry enough to painstakingly take off the polish without using the foil method. Anyways, a new look I will put on later this afternoon. When doing this tutorial business I noticed something: my camera is terribad!! We have been together for.. 3 years now I think.. And he is just so outdated. My sister bought herself a camera around Christmastime that has 12.whatever mega pixels and the picture she takes are STUNNING! My little bad boy here has 7.2, which isn't terrible, but I am wondering if someone has done something to my camera and hasn't told me :( Plus I think I should look into building a lightbox for my photos as well. So I decided to leap upon the band wagon and test out 'mannequin' hands. The reason I bought the polish? One of my co-workers came up to me yesterday at work and was like 'the new OPI Tokyo collection is out.. you should pick up some of them' and slapped her CosmoProf card down on the table. I pretty much gasped. Sadly, when I arrived, the collection isn't going to be available until Wednesday.. So I grabbed CG II and Liquid Leather (replacement) and a few random top coats and base coats. I was a bit underwhelmed by their selection this time. OH! And I also bought a replacement white silkline polish. I might remember to snap a photo or three later on. When I arrived home from that venture and starting to get ready, I had about 2 hours before my friend and I were going to see a movie, (we saw Legion by the way), so of course I had to do my nails. And of course I grabbed CG II. This actually freaked me out.. In some lights, it did look like mannequin hands. Wh
