Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

By Sir Elton John. I love him!! I don't like all his songs, but the tunes I do like I end up playing a ton. Like this one. It is just so good! For some reason it calms me down. I think I have listened to it over 100 times in the last few days.. Since my beautiful little baby DJ passed away (sadface x 1 million.)

Hello lovelies!! I have a post with a slight tutorial with it. When doing this tutorial business I noticed something: my camera is terribad!! We have been together for.. 3 years now I think.. And he is just so outdated. My sister bought herself a camera around Christmastime that has 12.whatever mega pixels and the picture she takes are STUNNING! My little bad boy here has 7.2, which isn't terrible, but I am wondering if someone has done something to my camera and hasn't told me :(

Plus I think I should look into building a lightbox for my photos as well. Maybe I will get on with that today.

PLUS! I am going to making another post hopefully later today with an idea I thought up yesterday! Ok, now to the photoy-goodness..

The Steps

I am not sure if the guide will be helpful, but I figured if someone saw this wacky look and wanted to know how to go about executing it, I would lend a hand! I used a bobby pin for the dots and just went for it. I came across this photo (it was just an image littered amongst many others from a Japanese nail art magazine) and I knew I had to try it.

For the most part I do really like it.. I think the black 'strap' is strange though.. Not to say I don't like it.. It is just really different!!

Oh, and a quick snap of what I picked up at CosmoProf the other day..
Alrighty.. Time for me to go do some cleanup.. And not on my nails (heh) - and I tried clean up around the edges with acetone.. Black polish + acetone = angry stained skin!!

  •  gildedangel - Thank you doll! I will let my sister see that comment - she will be pleased!
  • Danielle - Thank you for assuring me I am not totally out to lunch!! And good eye - there is some tiny pink 'particles' within the polish!

Black Marble (sort of).

Hey everyone!

-Insert gratuitous reasoning(s) of why I have been away-

Ok, now that that is out of the way, hi!

I just realized I still have a couple post photos stocked up. Sigh. I haven't even uploaded all that is currently living on my camera. The fear is real.

That is for another day. Mayhaps this weekend.

Until then.

I think I said it at some point on my blog, but I feel like 2017 is going to be the year that I constantly do faux marble nails. Note: not watermarbling. I have given in to that failed activity far too many times.

No, I mean the classy kind of marble. You know.

This time, I did it in reverse, because, why not?

 It counts, right?

Ugh. I love it.

All right, that is all for today. See you all again soon (I promise).

Formula X The Match CLIX! Swatch Post

Hey everyone!

Last weekend, as I bopped in to Sephora to nab some retexurizing pads I was out of, I took a quick peruse of the store, as one does - but my pal that I was with had strict instructions to keep me fairly focused (that, and we had a movie starting in like.. 30 mins)

Anyways! In the back of my mind, I was also wanting a 'nude' polish because of an image I had saved from IG. Took a look at these Formula X The Match CLIX! in 'Fair/Light' and quickly made my way to the till.

My plan was to immediately swatch all of them and just post them.. but I used the blue first, was obsessed and wanted to wear it as a full mani with an accent nail - so I did the rest of my swatches with an accent nail as well - two birds, meet one stone.. all of these accent nail polishes that I used we in my untried rack. Seriously, winning.

The four colours in the set were designed to complement the skin tones specified - and I think they did an exceptional job with the fair/light shades…

Revlon Galactic Pink

Hey everyone!

I have seen a small wealth of posts in FB groups and such on these Revlon holographic polishes.. and I didn't sprint out to buy them.. but I did happen to meander past a display of them the other day. I decided to snap up this pink shade. Kind of glad I did.

The formula is suuuper easy to work with, and very buildable - it also dried quite quickly. All wins in my book.

I am starting to get better at putting on a cuticle lotion or oil instead of picking at the skin/cuticles.. so, I am hoping that my nails will start growing now. Fingers crossed!

That is all for today - see you all again soon!
