Poster Sale

I know.. Not a song title.. Actually, it could be, but if it is, I have never met this tune!!

I used the title 'poster sale' because I went to a poster sale this morning with my sister. The university here holds an annual poster sale.. I have never gone and neither has my sister.. And she REALLY wanted to scope it out. So I agreed to go with her.. And it was AH-MAH-ZING! I quickly snapped some photos of my purchases.. But first I will show you my nails..

I wanted to use OPI Mad As A Hatter, but wasn't entirely sure how.. So I went accent nail. This was boring to me, so I added a diagonal stripe of MAAH.. And silver tape.. The tape came off before I went to sleep last night.. I didn't even snap a photo because I was so angry. I was even angry enough to painstakingly take off the polish without using the foil method. Anyways, a new look I will put on later this afternoon. I am thinking red.. with dots.. and bows.. I have seen some new YT vids (:

Ok.. Poster pictures! I am really excited about these. My mom was like 'why would you buy a bunch of posters?' I told her they were an investment in artwork for my future home/apt/condo/etc.. Plus I told her we'd be framing them soon.. That seemed to get her to leave me alone about them!! I only bought 4.. well, it should have been 5.. But when I got up there to get my posters, they were sold out of one of the images that caught my eye the most! Grr.. Oh well.. I could probably recreate it myself whenever I feel like picking up my paintbrushes for something besides my nails. My sister bought a whooooole bunch, but I will just show mine!

This was the first poster I chose.. Now, I am not one for blatant advertising.. Nor am I the type of person to have my home littered with images supporting companies that I hardly own any of.. BUT! The lady walking in that amazing plaid skirt and jacket? LOVE! Plus it is a black and white print.

Here is the second gem I chose. I have actually seen images similar to this one.. But I needed to own it. Again, black and white with a pop of colour.. Totally my thing!

Third choice.. Umm.. The green in the background matches my walls perfectly! I was like 'eeehhhh.. I don't really need it..' and my sister was like 'it matches your walls, plus I know you want it, write it down'.. So I did. And am super happy that I did!

Anyone else notice a trend in what I like? Pops of colours! I looked at so many NYC skyline prints and posters.. And was like 'I don't really need them'.. I probably saw this one in 5 different sizes.. Then when we were waiting in line to hand in our tickets, it was displayed once again.. It was like a sign. I had to have it!

The whole morning was amazing! I am kind of disappointed in myself that I have missed out on this sale the past few years.. I have never seen so many great images on display in one place.. Unless it was a gallery. I cannot wait for next year!!

I hope everyone has a FIERCE Friday.. OH! I should be getting my polishes today.. I requested 2 colours from the new OPI collection.. And CG polish.. I am not going to announce colour names - I don't want to jinx myself!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
