No Song Title

Yes, I am being extremely lazy today! But I just wanted to do a quick post before I decide to read, do art or game.. Or nap. Yeeeah.. LAZY FRIDAY!

I went out to do a little birthday shopping (not for me.. that is next month!) but for my daaaad! But of course that means I have to do a bit of shopping for myself. After hitting up Sears, I decided to stop in at Dutch Growers.. Which I mentioned back in the day.. They are a konad supplier and after using konad (well, technically I used an Essence plate last night..) I decided to treat myself! Plus one of my friends has a birthday coming up and she told me that she likes using konad - yay! I did buy one plate for her (she likes the french tips only..) but I might have to keep it for myself.. and get her something else.. We'll see.

I bought plates M70 and M45.. Oh, and my camera really hates me today so I apologize for the terribad quality of photos.. I think I snapped about 20 photos of everything and just nothing was working. Blah! I also bought the double ended stamper because I like the idea of using that small side for the smaller images.. and full images for my baby sized pinky nail.
After going there it was time for a quick run to Zellers.. I actually didn't want to go to the cosmetics section because I didn't want to see nail polish.. BUT.. I went because I needed my favourite exfoliating scrub and such..

I nabbed the Art Deco nail art 'lacquers' first.. I have never tried this brand, but figured I would give them a whirl.. Plus I read somewhere that you can use them with konad? That would be super as these were $2 compared to the $7 konad polish (again, I paid through the nose for the konad stuff, so next time I will just order online!) Then, as I was leaving, I noticed these Wet n Wild polishes on the bottom rack.. And this cute little bottled colour caught my eye! It photographed lighter than it actually is.. It is like a smokey purple.. LOVE IT! It is called 'Bite the Bullet' - I cannot wait to try it!

My nails currently.. Kind of suuuucky, but oh well! I used OPI Sapphire in the Snow, an Essence image plate (thank you Secret Santa exchange :D) and CG Devotion. It is a cute idea, I just need to work on my stamping skillz! It will be nice to just use a stamp sometimes instead of trying to paint everything!
Once I returned home it was about 2:30.. Finally at about 3:04 I decided to check the amazon website because I was expecting a shipment today.. But figured maybe they date changed it and it would arrive Monday, nbD as long as it arrives before Thursday aka the dad's birthday.. I ordered him a DVD along with some books for myself.. Anyways, check the website..

Delivered? SAY WHAT! I race upstairs and my mom is on the phone to her mom.. I of course interrupt this conversation.. 'Did someone ring the bell?' 'No honey, what's up?' 'It says my package was delivered.. So weird..' 'Well, there was a dark haired guy looking around.. Yes mom, the one I told you about..'.. I open the door, look around, nothing.. Look at the mailbox - PACKAGE! Yay! Now I don't have to wait and worry about it being delivered. Plus I finally have reading material again.
Wait, didn't I say this would be a quick post? Geez! I'm done now!!

Have a fantastic Friday everyone (:

Your Comments... ANSWERED!
  • Tierney - I still have to shorten them.. Or maybe I'll just have to post them up novel style - and I really liked yours, they are all wonderful things!!
  • gildedangel - It was one of those things where I didn't really feel it until I saw it.. I knew moving that book shelf that a nail had broken, but then I saw it and it STUNG! Of course my brother was like 'you're such a girl!' but for once that actually hurt. Boys.. And thank you! It can use some work and I need to tell my sister to keep the bottles neat.. Polish all over the place!!
  • susies1995 - Thankies doll!! It was kind of nice to see all my gems face to face at the same time, haha!

Love your nails! I need to start using my konad stuff again.. I haven't for awhile and that won't help me get better at it. Haha.
What you said about buying stuff for yourself while shopping for other people made me laugh. Back in January I was trying to figure out what to get one of my friends, she is really hard to shop for. I ended up buying myself new shoes before I finally found something for her. They were on sale though :P
Oh and happy almost birthday to your dad!

zellers has a pretty good nail polish sale when it comes around..I try really hard to avoid them..but seriously the sale is awesome

for the LA colors I tried white and it works with konad. try the dollar stores the dollar store in my area called everything under a dollar (a lie cus sometimes are above a dollar) sells them for $1.

nail breaks suck..they are quite frequent for me because I am really really rough..but the worst part right now is nail peeling/ chipping. I'm looking for a strength nail top coat right now.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Day 27: The Hungry Asian Cookies (and) Cream

Hey everyone! I decided that for today and tomorrow (my last day - eeek!) that I would choose two polish that mean something to me. Today I am going to be sharing Cookies & Cream made by the awesome Kae aka The Hungry Asian. When I first started blogging, I immediately started following her. She is the reason behind many of my polish purchases.. heh. She started "frakening" polish awhile back.. and I had a HUGE lemming for Cookies & Cream - but, at the time, she wasn't shipping to Canada. Then, when she started to ship to Canada, I would always miss the restock times.. Then I just sort of.. forgot about it. Then, a little while back, while stumbling through all the amazing gems on etsy.. I saw a photo.. I didn't need to see the seller or the name.. I knew. It was ordered almost immediately. And it has sat.. until now. It still makes me heart smile. And now that it is mine? Constant smiling heart! I decided to not use undies on this. It is

Terrazzo Inspired Nails

Hey everyone! Will speed-race past a whole 'sorry I have been away' write-up and just go straight to the goods. I apologize in advance for my VERY dry cuticles (I cleaned up as much as I could in edit mode.. but, still bad) - I have been applying oil and lotions multiple times per day for.. weeks.. and.. no beneficial results, sadly. I went with terrazzo print inspired nails for this go-round. I started with a base coat, then OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI, then, using the brush for the each nail polish, I went in with: OPI Suzi Shops & Island Hops, OPI Sailing & Nail-ing, OPI Amazon...Amazoff, China Glaze Liquid Leather, China Glaze Sweet Hook, Essie Chinchilly, Color Club Je Ne Sasi Quoi, and Sally Hansen White On - then finally topped with Seche Vite. I am hoping to slowly creep back into regularly posting new content here - so, stay tuned!
