Analogous Nails

Polish Hoarder Disorder (PHD) posted up the Analogous Color Challenge, so of course I had to accept it! (It was extremely difficult to not add a 'u' to colour)

And of course I chose the Yellow, Green-Yellow and Green spectrum.

I am not sure whether I have mentioned it before or not, but I work at a retirement home (as well as my sister) and the residents always enjoy seeing what we have done with our nails. There is one table of ladies in particular that always give input and I think once they started making a big fuss about our nails, everyone else has to grab our hands to see them. Sometimes it makes serving take longer, but I don't mind. Sometimes they even give me ideas.

Now, why am I giving you this background information you ask? Well, yesterday while I was serving, the ladies at aforementioned table of course all had to get a closer look. Then one of the ladies, really loudly, said: 'those green nails are hideous!'. Now, usually she isn't so blunt.. So I was like 'Awwwe -insert name here-, you don't like them?' then she said 'oh no, I like them, I just hate green!' - It just goes to show that while some people favour a colour, others really hate it.. Anyways.. Random story.

I hope everyone is having an excellent week thus far! I need to kill a few hours before I hang out with a friend.. We're going to go look at cell phones then have ice cream. Sounds like a solid evening! I may just return home with an iphone.. Depending on monthly costs and such. We shall see! Oh! Plus it is in the mall.. Maybe I can sneak in to Claire's and find me some of those mood polishes.. Oh the possibilities!!

  • AggiePigeon - I did a little reading on the Orly creme you speak of.. I kind of like the sounds of it.. Plus I kind of heart the brand! Thank you for tossing out that suggestion, I think I might just have to order it!! And I agree, it is a lovely colour!!
  • nailsss - Haha! I totally agree! It really does! I actually did get a ton of compliments on this one. And lots of random people grabbing my hands to look/touch my nails.
  • Lily nail - Thank you very much (:
  • shortnails - It is just a little yellowy-orange sponge I picked up from Michaels in a sponge variety pack (ha!) I will try to remember to snap a photo of it next time.. You could totally cut the cotton balls in half - I did! I just put on enough remover to cover my nail.. I know it does seem like a waste, but, I would imagine that you wouldn't be wearing glitter nails ALL the time.. Right? So that way if it is only once in awhile it isn't so bad.. I figure it usually takes me 10+ cotton balls to finish the job using elbow grease, I might as well toss in some tin foil for good measure (:

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi
