I'm Not Cool

By Sohodolls. I don't have a mani to show off today, so I decided I would use a song title! It has been quite some time.. (sidenote: the website that I update my blogs' music player is acting lame.. hopefully I can add the song later!)

My bestie bought me an iTunes gift card as part of my 'Get Well' package.. So of course I did a little music shopping and it recommended this song for me.. and I actually really like it!

That isn't the only shopping I have been doing.. I am not back at work til probably September.. And I did sock away a pretty good sum of $$, but really.. I shouldn't be 'shopping'.. Cannot help it! I bought the two seasons of True Blood off of ebay for $40 altogether.. AND! I put in an order at TD.. oops.

So, since I don't have anything MANI-wise to post, I figured I could post what I ordered. I will doing my nails in a bit for the PHD Challenge, so I will post that either tomorrow or Friday.. Anyways!

There are all the goodies that should be in my possession in the very near future! Yay! Oh, the little polish 'blobs' are Color Club polishes. I have never owned any, so why not now?

Anyways, that is all for now. My gross protein drink and the sims2 (I totally went back to the sims 2 after abandoning it for the sims 3.. nerd) are calling my name - talk to you all later! (:

  • susies1955 - Thank you! So far so good.. I haven't even been taking my pain meds.. I figure that is a good sign! And I will scope out the giveaway (:
  • Deez Nailz - Thank you! I hope for a quick recovery as well. I was tidying up the house earlier, and had to take a break every few moments. Very annoying! It is funny you say that.. I was telling my dad (after we left the store) that there is this blogger (you!) and she posts these amazing photos of the displays/how nice everything looks.. Maybe I will give it another go when I am in Regina again!
  • Tierney - Thankies doll! Me too!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
