Periwinkle Squares

Yes, I'm back. Two days in a row!

I think I am just super pumped because last night I actually got to put in an hour of reading.. with minor discomfort! Yes!

Oh, plus I have some photos of my little Bennie at the end - enjoy!

Here is what I used.. CG Secret Peri-Wink-Le & CG Liquid Leather. I was going to use a purple like the image does, buuuut.. I have a few untried and I really don't want them to become too many.. So CGSP it is! Also, I have been using two 'base' coats. I added OPI Matte Nail Envy into the mix because my nails are quite long right now.. And the crazy part is that they are all basically the same length.. I am just trying to avoid a nail break.. Once that happens I will clip down all my nails and start over again. Sigh. It is just nice to have these nice long nails again.

Inspiration picture..

My take...

These were actually kind of easy to do.. For the most part. A few of the 'squares' were filled in (like my pinky and ring fingers), but I just dabbed some black and tried to fix it up. Now, in the inspiration image, I do like the little gems and such they use.. But, I don't really like wearing little gems.. I find them to be impractical.

Ok, now the promised photo of Bennie. I think awhile back I said I wanted to get photos of him in his dust bath because it is amazing.. Well..
I had to toss in the last image.. He was so into his dust bath, he didn't notice his favourite non-toy: my camera. Then, mid swivel in the dust, he stopped and stared straight at me.. Then he tried to grab the camera cord. I adore him!

Whelp, that is all I have got to say for now.. I hope everyone will have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend! See you all next week (:

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!
