Diagonal Zebra Mix

Hello everyone (:

I bring to you another look that I saw on WAH Nails. I really liked this particular look because it is simple, yet it grabs attention as if it were a more complicated design.

I have had a bunch of people grab my hands in the past few days (I have been wearing this for 6 days now).. I find friends and/or mother/daughter combos are the best.. They grab my hands and then hold them in the air to get others to come and look. Embarrassing, yet it is nice to get acknowledgment for the work you've done. Onwards to the photos..

I used OPI No Room For The Blues, OPI Dim Sum Plum & CG Liquid Leather for this.. I started out by painting on the blue.. I didn't let it dry fully because I thought there would be this rad mixed purple-y line once I added the purple, but it didn't happen.. oh well!! Then, using my nail art brush from that yellow, I painted on the zebra-esque lines. Super easy and super fun!

Ok, now, a few entries back, I think I said something about waiting for a nail break so I could clip off these talons (seriously, a friend called them talons the other day.. I think they are starting to scare people!)..

Earlier today I had an.. incident occur. Not an accident, because I think this damage was done with intent. You all are familiar with Bennie the degu by now.. Well.. He loves sunflower seeds.. And everyone in the house feeds him his 'treat' because the LARGE bag is by his cage.. Anyways.. This past week I cut him off from the seeds because he gained a noticeable amount of weight and I do not want my pal to get diabetes (degus are prone to it..) Now.. We were playing earlier this afternoon, and sometimes he nips at my nails, usually no big deal..

THIS TIME though he bit the nail on my little finger.. still kept playing.. Then I was heading upstairs and thought 'my finger really hurts!' and glanced at my nail.. then thought 'gee, I hope this blood doesn't get on the carpet', go up a few more stairs.. 'BLOOD?!'

Now.. I snapped a few photos to share.. I think the camera is being generous.. It doesn't look so bad on here..

The way I have been explaining it to my family is that my nail has a trap door.. It is a flap of the nail.. My mom suggests I super glue it.. I am terrified of doing that.. Yet I was excited to make my nail talk.. I am keeping it bandaged and trying to avoid everything!! Any little touch stings. And it is actually bruising now. Blergh!

Oh, and, in case anyone else was wondering.. Bennie did shed his pounds that he put on, but my pal is not getting any seeds from my hands anytime soon. Although I did give him a massage, except he twists his head more and smiles like a rat!!

**EDIT** I just read ThRiSzHa's comment and wanted to say that.. Although I do plan on continuing to do my nails despite this horrendous accident, I do not plan to polish that nail at all! It will probably remain bandaged a lot as it looks disgusting right now. I am going to wait for that part to grow out and then just snip the nail. Should be a fun waiting process aka not! **/EDIT**

Alright, well, that is all. I guess I will go baby my wound some more.. And glare at Bennie! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you

Hey everyone! Not sure what else to call these.. other than gross.. these are the nails I imagine some sadistic swamp-dwelling mother of mutants to have.. yeah, that.
