Pink and Pink

Just a somewhat quickie post.

I am starting to make myself get up at better times (I can go to bed before midnight and not wake up til 2:30pm the next day.. And that is giving you the earliest time I could wake up at). I am starting to actually be more beneficial to my body after surgery. Finally I am starting to get through my head all the changes that have already happened and will happen. Craziness. I am starting to snap out of my funk! Woo! Plus it has just been over a month now.. Time flies when you're not having fun as well!!

Side note.. The other night, my bro had some of his pals over.. They were drinking and wanted to snap some photos of, well, anyways.. They borrowed my camera. Now, my camera isn't high quality, but I didn't want to get a new camera til around Christmas time as that would be my gift to myself.. I may have to invest earlier than I thought. It doesn't focus like it used to.. You have to take the photo and cross your fingers that it isn't too blurry. Plus it makes weird noises when you try to get it to focus. My brother says I am just trying to blame that on him.. But he does have a history of wrecking cameras.. Who knows what happened.. I just know that ever since he 'borrowed' it, it hasn't been the same. Prepare for sucky photos!!

Ok, so, what you're looking at is CC Warhol with Island Girl Hawaii: Pink sponged on top. Actually, Warhol reminds me of the Claire's mood polish I have.. I might have to do a comparison between the two. The two pinks don't look very different in either photo, but the top one is supposed to sort of show how they differ. IRL you can tell, honest!

And now to toss in a photo of Bennie because.. I went to check on him the other day.. And he had wrapped himself in his blanket.. Plus he is smiling.. Makes me chuckle!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
