Suede Flowers

Just a quick post as I have to run out with the bro (Happy Birthday!!!) and exchange his new jeans.. AGAIN! I thought birthday gifts were supposed to be easy..

The other night I took to my twitter to ask for an idea on how to polish up thee old nails. Gingerkittyd said I should konad with matte polish over glossy polish.. Sounded amazing! But sadly a combination of things kept this look from happening. 1. My stamping skillz are not up to par 2. I just couldn't get anything to go well. Once I did have all my nails stamped, I hated it!! Not the idea, I just thought it looked sloppy (it was all my fault though!!)

So. Removed everything and started again. I didn't know what to do and I was too lazy to go grab a brush, so I used a pencil with my suede polish and made these flowery.. things?

I apologize for the chips. We went to my friends cabin for the weekend.. Of course I forgot to take the picture beforehand. Still, without a top coat, this actually held out fairly well.

My favourite part is that when we were driving home on Sunday, we decided to stop for a sit-down-meal at Boston Pizza before finishing our trip. Just before we left, I ran to use the washroom and this little girl was outside the door.. I went to push the door open and she said 'your nails are beautiful'... I was elated! I said 'thank you so much sweetie' and went on my way. That comment made me feel better for the rest of the trip home. (Right now road trips take a ton of energy away from me.. It makes me sad!) So at least I was happy when I fell asleep for a bit.. Hah!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great week! Gotta run!!

Love it!!!
That reminds me of when time when I was at the ice rink, a little kid was waiting for his lesson to start and he came over and told me I had beautiful blue nails. It was adorable.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
