That Bloody Thing

Yay October! Like many of you out there, October is my favourite time of year. My favourite season (fall), my favourite month and my favourite 'holiday'.. Actually, technically I have to be careful when saying that as I am Canadian and we do have a legit holiday this month.. Which is Thanksgiving! Woo! But I am talking about that pseudo holiday, Halloween.

I decided month and months ago that I would dedicate the month of October to strictly Halloween-esque nails. And I am staying true to my word.

The problem? The other day on Polish or Perish, one of the members posted THIS and I fell in love! I can no longer drink soda.. Which isn't so bad, but someday I want a glass so bad.. No idea why. Sort of weird. My favourite soda was/is Dr. Pepper, so when this Dr. Pepper mani was posted up I knew I had to do it. In my mind it would stomp that craving for some smooth DP.

So. I did it. LOVED it. Then, 3 hours later, I was bored. And I realized we're in October. Duh Dee, you promised yourself Halloween nails ALL MONTH LONG.

Easy fix? Bloody nails.

Sorry, you're getting pre-clean up shots. I was just about to go to bed.. But realized that I was working the next day and these bad boys would probably be destroyed.. They actually survived, but there is some dents that I don't appreciate, so you have to make do with this - I'm sorry!

Notice anything? Yeah! My trap door nail is GONE!!! It is really, really short.. And it hurts a bit when you touch it (with added pressure) but it is paintable! Soooo happy! Now random people don't have to ask why one of my nails is never painted. Rejoice!

I used two coats of Quirius Ruby Pumps over two coats of CG Liquid Leather followed by two thick coats of dripping blood courtesy of Essie Lollipop.

Whelp, that is all for now! I am not sure if I'll be back with a post again this week or not. We'll see how well these gems wear through the week. Plus I am STILL waiting for some polishes to arrive. This is the longest they have ever taken to get into my mitts. I am not impressed! Ahh well.

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

OH! AND! Side note: Are there any Halloween-esque nails 'y'all' want me to take a... stab at? Let me know via comment, twitter or e-mail and I will be happy to try!

  • Zara - Thankies! I just couldn't decide.. And since they are both sparkly and wonderful, I figured they would compliment each other. And luckily the effect is nice!!
  • shortwidenails - Ooh silver! I didn't even think of that! That would be a nice way to top it all off as well. And I know exactly how you feel on the ideas:nails ratio!
  • maRyya - Glad you enjoyed your visit. I will going to scope out your blog right after I hit 'publish post'.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi
