Turn That Frankenstein...

...Into A Frankenfine.. I'm sorry. I'm slightly sleep deprived and have random quotes swimming in my mind. I am pretty sure that is from Dodgeball..

I just got back from my travels to my 3 month post-op appointment (I have to travel to another city (Regina), which is about 2.5 hours away..) - AND - All appears to be going quite well for me.

On the way home, the father and I made detours and I got four massive pumpkins! 2 for moi and 2 for the sister. 4 pumpkins weighing in at a grand total of 108 lbs! Insanity! Now I have to figure out what I want to carve.. Or possibly make stencils (my genius favourite friend explained pumpkin stencil making to me the other day.. I would have never guessed!)

Anyways! Enough about my day.. Well, the beginning of my day. I am going to show you all what I am currently sporting. The video tutorial (not by me!) can be found HERE.

I have been getting compliments by everyone. And, they are super easy to do! And.. well, they are quite cute! My sister and I were actually watching 'Hocus Pocus' the other night (when I painted these bad boys) and they actually remind me of Billy from the movie. Moving on..

For this I used: Seche Clear Base Coat, OPI Who The Shrek Are You, CG Liquid Leather, SH Salon All The White Stuff and, of course, Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

THEN! When I arrived home, I was getting ready to race to my computer and formulate a letter to TD about my order.. I placed it on September 22.. And it is October 12.. It has NEVER taken them longer than a week to arrive to me.. Luckily enough, a mini package was waiting for me! Yay!

Here we have CG: Zombie Zest, Ick-A-Bod-Y & Mummy May I, Orly Halleys Comet, OPI Ski Teal We Drop, and CND: Colour Urban Oasis and Effects Teal Sparkle.

I am obviously extremely excited about all of them.. But I am particularly excited to try the CND. PLUS! They have colour with the amazing Canadian 'u'. I am really not one for layering, but after the fun I had testing out the Dr. Pepper mani, this seems like a good plan!

I am a bit sad though.. I wish these would have arrived a few days earlier.. I would have swapped out Who The Shrek Are You and used Zombie Zest instead. Ahh well.. Now to use these three Halloween inspired polishes to finish off my Halloween Month themed nails!!

Have a great day everyone!

  • Zara - Yay! Thank you! That took me awhile to get them just *so*
  • shortwidenails - I thought it would take forever to dry, but it actually wasn't too bad. I also thought I would catch them on everything and have to change the mani soon after.. It lasted me a full week!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
