Sea Spray

I could not handle even 24 hours of just a polish.. I had to add SOMETHING to it.. I couldn't figure out what.. Then, after going to the gym with a pal and watching RED, I decided to play 'The Biggest Loser' on kinect.. I kept watching the water in the background, which led to what I painted on to my nails.. I admit, I apparently had the shakes last night.. I couldn't do any type of lines to save my life! All I did was take a white polish (I believe I used CG White Out ), I placed a dot in a different position on every nail, then followed the dot out with lines.. I do like this.. It is tres simple, but effective. Maybe next time I attempt it, I won't be so shaky! Have an awesome Thursday everyone! I have some errands to run, followed by painting and putting a room back together.. Should be fun!! I am on the hunt for OPI Black Shatter - Thanks for the tip Alyssa!! - I plan on having it in my possession by the end of the day!!

Nail Wheel Swatches

I finally figured out what to do with the package of nail wheels I bought.. I normally buy a few new (to me) nail polishes every month.. Sometimes I mention them, sometimes I don't. What I am really good at, however, is hiding them in my 'to try' drawer and totally forgetting about them.. Today, while out and about, I happened to stop in at Winners.. And right in the 'beauty' section was a set of Color Club polishes (the Pardon My French collection) - I have never seen them available there (although I have heard of them being around from time to time..) so I immediately snapped them up.. Even though I wasn't a HUGE fan of the shades. There was also a trio of e.l.f brand polishes.. I hummed and hawed over them, but ultimately ended up purchasing them. Now, after being home and putting a swipe (or three) of the polish on the nail wheel.. I am extremely happy with my purchases. Now on to the photos..  The pretty CC polishes.. There is: Pardon My French, I

Cheetah Madness

Cheetah/Leopard print items are EVERYWHERE lately.. And I for one, really, really, like the trend. Although I am not sure why as zebra print has always been my go to (love me blacks and whites!) I think I finally was able to replicate a cheetah print that I.. well, like. I was looking on WAH Nails and saw this Fan Submission and LOVED it! The image instantly went to my inspiration folder and I could not stop thinking about it. So, to help ease my troubled mind, I used the image and came up with these bad boys: I used: CC High Society, CG Ingrid, Sally Hansen nail art pen and a dotting tool (which was sent to me for review from Born Pretty ) I am a touch disappointed in myself for not trying out either of these polishes before as I really am quite fond of both!! They are lovely!! Ugh. Of course I would choose to blog when I have to run - I will answer comments next time! Take care everyone!!

I will share more later as I really do not want to jinx that acceptance letter! I read. A. Lot. I actually keep track of the books I read.. I am hoping to actually get to 50+ books this year.. I only made it to 42 last year! I blame surgery getting in the way.. I enjoy excuses! I have a fondness for exclamation marks. I despise onions. I will actually sit and pick them out of my meal.. Even if they are tiny. Yet, I will eat an onion ring or two.. And that is all onion basically. I am strange. I hav

Line Time

Hey everyone! Just a quick post, as I am fairly sure these nails will be gone-zo after tomorrow, which makes me a sadface, but such is life. I apologize for the chips already. Work.. Ruins everything.. But I also like money.. Such a rude cycle! I got the idea for these gems HERE and came up with.. well, that which you see above! I like that her lines are more.. free? Despite my best efforts to not follow a pattern, I still see a slight pattern. I can never just let go! Some day.. or week.. or month.. year maybe? Also.. Watermarking.. The little corner watermark that I used in these or the old diagonal action I used in some of my old posts.. Lemme know!!  I used: Orly Mirror Mirror, CGs Peachy Keen, Re-Fresh Mint and Lemon Fizz as well as OPI Shorts Story . The reason I tossed in my base polish and top polish is to show I have swapped for now. I usually use China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat - and I still absolutely love it - but I am seriously falling for this Nail Life

Olive Mod

Hey everyone! Sorry it has been a little while since my last post. I have been busy and then extremely sick. I am still the latter part.. Fun times!! I never did get a photo of my last manicure.. Super annoying. I really didn't like it, but I did get a ton of comments/compliments on it. I will have to do it again. I used a polish that I quite like and need to order more of.. ANYWAYS! Onwards to today.. ***Not My Photo*** I kept looking at this photo in my inspiration photo.. And wanted to do it.. And I knew which purple I would use, etc. Then I remembered my 'untried' polish drawer calling out to me.. So I yoinked Essie Sew Psyched out of the drawer.. Grabbed a white ( OPI Alpine Snow ) and a green ( CG Jolly Holly ) and got to work. And this was born. I really like Sew Psyched, I am not so psyched on the overall look though. I really wanted to use black and white, but that is so safe! Oh well! It has been fun to wear regardless. I will probably have to do somethin

Yellow and Gold Bracelet

What do these 3 random colours have in common? Other than the fact that they don’t really go together? They are what make up the next manicure I am going to show you all!! I got the idea from a bracelet I saw in an InStyle magazine from 2008? Maybe 2009? It could have even been 2010.. I am not entirely sure. I know I have mentioned my ‘inspiration folder’ within my computer, but what I have also started is a ‘real life’ inspiration folder – it now is a complete page within the folder! Yay! Means more tutorials. Wait.. Tutorials? Oh right! I filmed how I went about making this manicure . I hope you’ll watch and enjoy – and maybe test it out for yourself? I would love to see the results; maybe with some other colours? Anything! While I am speaking of video tutorials, Li Lian of shortwidenails had asked about my roses manicure I did HERE .. I actually filmed a video quite awhile back, but I, of course, didn’t upload from the camera properly and deleted everything.. I got a cha

Welcome 2011

With a photo of my nails.. And some goodies I have picked up in the last few days. I guess I will first start off with my fail NYE mani. I was so pumped to finally try Essie Little Brown Dress that I completely forgot that it was NYE. Duh. I just decided to sponge on some glitter ala OPI Sparkle-icious .. Then I added some star shaped glitter. I didn't totally hate it, but, I forgot to press the star glitter in to the polish.. It started lifting pretty badly. I had enough time at the end of running errands that day (yesterday) to snap a photo before the horrid removal process. One of these days I will give Little Brown Dress the love and attention that it so deserves. After I took off that disaster.. I was flipping through the InStyle January magazine.. And found this.. EDIT: This is where the scan of the image/article WOULD BE.. Now add in that my scanner is being extremely lame. Hopefully I can get it working asap.. Then all will make sense!! It is Ruffian-esque.. But
