Olive Mod

Hey everyone! Sorry it has been a little while since my last post. I have been busy and then extremely sick. I am still the latter part.. Fun times!!

I never did get a photo of my last manicure.. Super annoying. I really didn't like it, but I did get a ton of comments/compliments on it. I will have to do it again. I used a polish that I quite like and need to order more of.. ANYWAYS! Onwards to today..
***Not My Photo***
I kept looking at this photo in my inspiration photo.. And wanted to do it.. And I knew which purple I would use, etc. Then I remembered my 'untried' polish drawer calling out to me..

So I yoinked Essie Sew Psyched out of the drawer.. Grabbed a white (OPI Alpine Snow) and a green (CG Jolly Holly) and got to work.

And this was born. I really like Sew Psyched, I am not so psyched on the overall look though. I really wanted to use black and white, but that is so safe! Oh well! It has been fun to wear regardless. I will probably have to do something new tomorrow anyways. I have a bunch of cage cleaning, tidying up, cooking and baking to do today.. Plus more death coughing. I feel that entitles me to painting my nails tomorrow.

I hope everyone is having a great week!!

  • ABOP - Yay! Thank you so much (:
  • shortwidenails - That is a fantastic idea! I just might have to do that!! I hope the tutorial makes sense and I cannot wait to see what you come up with!!
  • wahab - Yes.. Glowsticks are great. Yay marketing!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
