Line Time

Hey everyone!

Just a quick post, as I am fairly sure these nails will be gone-zo after tomorrow, which makes me a sadface, but such is life. I apologize for the chips already. Work.. Ruins everything.. But I also like money.. Such a rude cycle!

I got the idea for these gems HERE and came up with.. well, that which you see above! I like that her lines are more.. free? Despite my best efforts to not follow a pattern, I still see a slight pattern. I can never just let go! Some day.. or week.. or month.. year maybe?

Also.. Watermarking.. The little corner watermark that I used in these or the old diagonal action I used in some of my old posts.. Lemme know!!

I used: Orly Mirror Mirror, CGs Peachy Keen, Re-Fresh Mint and Lemon Fizz as well as OPI Shorts Story.

The reason I tossed in my base polish and top polish is to show I have swapped for now. I usually use China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat - and I still absolutely love it - but I am seriously falling for this Nail Life Gripper polish. Lesigh. So nice! I will be going back to my Seche Vite top coat asap though.. This Barielle speed dry is just not cutting it! Also, with Seche, I can do my designs/art and instantly apply. With this bad boy, I allow my work to sit for a few moments before applying (to give it a fair shot) and it still DRAGS the polish. Lame!

Also.. I am such a genius (note: sarcasm) I LOST the battery charger for my new camera. I have seriously searched every conceivable place for it.. So disappointed in myself. For now I have to use my old camera (which I had graciously handed over to my brother, then not so graciously took it back.. for now!) I went to Best Buy to try and buy another charger, but they are ridiculously expensive (plus, at the time, I was extremely sick and had a gross coughing fit in the store.. I keep it classy).. Thank God for ebay is all I have to say. I am hoping to get the set I ordered some time next week.. Fingers crossed!!

I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend!!

  • jaljen - Thank you.. I think I agree with you.. I am glad to have been unsafe for once (:
  • Zara - Thanks.. I agree, the design that was made was amazing.. I am happy to be able to do a slight replication!! And with colours that I really like!!
  • Danielle - Thank you, thank you!!
  • DesertNails8 - Haha! Yes! That is exactly what it is! Coughing up a lung with the ever so classy 'lung butter'.. The cough isn't as frequent now, but it is still just as terrible. I am almost thinking I am dealing with pneumonia.. Fun fun!
  • Lacey - Thank you, glad you do (:
  • shortwidenails - Ask and you shall receive.. I do warn you though.. It is pretty scary! I tried to organize it a time or three.. Serious business! I don't have done out in deco.. I was going to use A Grape Fit (as it is what I have) - Did I mention a polish that I love that I need more of? There are many!!
  • ABOP - Yay! Thank you so much.. I am happy that my recreation didn't disappoint!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
