Candy Swirls

Hello everyone! Today I am trying this whole 'scheduled post' business.. Fingers crossed that it actually works!!

Today I bring you my interpretation of these rad nails I found via tumblr last week..

Once again I apologize for my extremely worn out cuticles/surrounding areas.. I have been diligently applying every lotion/oil/gel in my possession, and these bad boys are the results. Le sigh.

To create these, I used: CG White Out, OPIs: Mod About You & Shorts Story and of course my nails' bff.

I actually started out trying to do something else involving Mod About You, but when those nails did not pan out.. I still really wanted to use that colour.. So, to zee inspiration folder I went.. And of course I wanted to do something super girly! Success!

Actually, last night was a lot of fun for me on the painting of nails front. I did my sister's nails first.. They are pokeballs!! Then I did my own.. Once the mother caught wind that I was doing nails, she of course wanted hers done as well. She is sporting some seriously bad ass looking cheetah/leopard/polka dotted nails. At her doctor's appointments, she was asked x 3 if they were nail stickers. I take that as a huge compliment!!

Hopefully I can snag some photos of their nails before they get chipped/wrecked! If all goes according to plan, I will share a snapshot of both on my next post.

Well, I better scuttle off to bed! Work in the am, then a super rad gym and movie date with a friend (:

OH! Wait.. Before I go..

I picked up these little fellow today.. CG Electric Pineapple. He did not photograph well, but he is a hybrid of lime green and yellow.. At least in my eyes. A very strange shade, which is why it caught my eye and landed itself at the till and then came home with moi!

Okay, now that is all!

Oh, no, I lied. The dad was asking if I had filmed anymore nail tutorials lately.. Which reminded me that I have not!! Anything I have posted lately that someone wants to see a tutorial of? I have a charger and backup battery for the camera now, so I am good to go!

Okay.. Done!

  • Zara - Thankies!! And lies.. I bet you would AND could make amazing shamrocks!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
