Electric Pineapple Attempts Camo

And sort of fails. Although, I don't hate this.. It just isn't quite how I wanted it to turn out.

First, I shall start off with a photo of Electric Pineapple on its own..

I feel it is the younger and more diluted brother of Who The Shrek Are You.. And I kind of like that! I feel this is going to be constantly on my toes during summer.. And I haven't been a toe painter in a long time, so that is saying A LOT!

Now, a bit of an intro to what I did to my nails after.. I was perusing nail art images, specifically for camo print nails.. And came across the forums at makeupgeek.com, specifically the thread of nail art.. The nail art photos are amazing, but one continuous poster caught my eye and it just so happens that she has a blog!! I am a little upset that I never came across her before, but I have to say.. I am in love with her work!! I feel that I will be using a lot of her images for upcoming looks!!

Her name is Kayla and she runs this BLOG and she is fantastic at nail art.. Check it out!!

Her nails are obviously better than mine, but I tried. It didn't really turn out camo-esque, but, I don't hate them. She also used yellow as her base, but I really wanted to use Electric Pineapple. Badly.

I ended up using: CG Electric Pineapple & OPIs: No Room For The Blues, Elephantastic Pink and A Grape Fit!

I also used a dotting tool, which was provided to me by Born Pretty

There is nothing currently wrong with these nails, but I think my nail painting habit has mutated. I fight myself to not paint my nails something different everyday! It.. Is actually beginning to feel like a sickness. I may or may not be worried.

  • shortwidenails - They are rather amazing.. Now I kind of want to sport them! My mom just has to put up with it. She asks me to paint her nails, and it seems to me, the crazier, the better! She was pumped when I just put dots on her nails and then ecstatic when I added some cheetah/leopard-esque action. Have you ever asked your mom? Maybe she would surprise you!! And funny you should ask about my brother's nails. I don't think he would ever allow me to do some nail art test runs, but he does have to help me make some polish colour decisions every now and again. I ask for his input (:
  • Jeanelle - Yay! Glad you like them! And, they are very lucky, heh! My sister actually does her own nails 99.987% of the time, that evening I just felt like doing other peoples' nails. I told her she should let me start taking photos of the designs she does.. One of these days maybe..
  • Niki* - You so should!! You would do an awesome job of them!! And I shall go check that out once I hit 'publish post'.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
