Flaming V Dots

I am going to be honest with you all.. I had no idea what to call my post.. It could possibly make sense as you read through this, actually, it most likely will not. I am working with very little sleep after an amazing weekend!!

This was my first FULL weekend off in quite awhile.. The odd time I take a Saturday or Sunday off, but I RARELY get both days off.. I have been working as the admin assistant lately, so not only do I get a cake walk through the day (compared to, say, serving or doing dishes) but I also get weekends to myself. Bliss. I really need to get going with school so everyday of my future career will feel like a holiday.. Anyways.. Totally off track!

I honestly have not been very creative lately.. And all I do is copy other designs. Maybe I am just lazy. I have no idea..

The other night I grabbed Joe Butter to use.. It is a pale creamy yellow and I love it. I just had no idea what to do with it. I came back to my polish collection to grab something to add and spotted my sponge. Oh, of course.

I used: Joe Butter, Finger Paints Model Colour & CG Breakin'. They reminded me of fire.. And.. I am once again (forever?) on the fence about what I have done here. I didn't hate them, didn't love them. Meh?

Now I am sporting these bad boys..

They are based off of this IMAGE and.. I really, really, REALLY.. dislike them. BUT! Everyone freakin' loves them!! I am tempted to try and chip them just so I can do something different.. I might just have to. Bleh.

I used: OPI Need Sunglasses?, OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, CG Liquid Leather, CG White Out. I also used a dotting tool (provided by Born Pretty) and my trusty paint brush (in the yellow bottle).

I really want to wear Essie Little Brown Dress. Time to look for inspiration.

I need to get some sleep tonight. The next few days are going to be crazy. My mother is going in for total knee replacement surgery tomorrow.. Days will be filled with work and then hospital visits. I am going to be one tired magoo! Weird that for once in my life I am actually praying for it to be the weekend already!!

Hope everyone is off to a great start to their week (:

  • shortwidenails - Maybe I will on my next post.. I just have to remember to snap some photos! I also really like seeing items that people receive/buy, but I also don't want to come off as a jerkface! Usually I hate everything that my birthday represents - I was pretty pleased with it all!! Oh, and I use the foil method.. Yeah, it uses 10 cotton balls, but I use that regardless when removing glitter polish.. It works like a charm!!
  • Swaafie - Thank you so much - I had an amazing day!!

It's funny how the mani you hate the most seems to get the most love. It's nuts, but I like it :-P

Oh yeah I love that 2nd mani. I'm one of those guys. :P Hey if you want to change them then go ahead! I sometimes change mine daily even when I liked the last one cause I've got a craving for some colour or and idea for something else. Glad you had a good weekend!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
