Rainbow Snakeskin aka Rainbow Tire Prints

I know, the title is a little strange.. But stick with me, and I will explain.

I really wanted to do something rainbow-esque the other day.. Yet my BM plate 215 was calling my name (aka the snakeskin pattern).. Then it suddenly hit me: sponge on a wealth of colours and use the pattern on top. YEX! (and I legitimately mean 'yex' - just say it in place of 'yes', believe me, it is fun!)

What I had wanted to do was have my colours all sponged on top of a yellow base, then use grey and black layered stamping action.. Though when I tried the grey on my pinky, I hated it and just went with black. Now, it is sort of distressed in some places.. And at some points in time, it still looked like a snakeskin print to me.. Then, I was like 'no, this is something else.. but what?' THEN I thought of the obscure movie 'Rubber' and my nails resembled tire impressions.. Everything made sense to me for the rest of the day after that.

I know, I'm strange. Moving on..

I used Orly Spark as the base, followed by some sponging of OPIs Ogre-the-Top Blue and Who The Shrek Are You?, then some Orly Sol Cabana, and finally China Glaze Heli-Yum. Then I used BM plate 215 with some Wet n Wild Black Creme.

My only remaining question: what do you see? Snakeskin? Tire print? Something entirely different - sorry, could not resist.

Have a stellar Sunday pals - it is now time for me to start up my work week.. ugh.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi
