Dotting Tool Adventure

Hello all! So.. I had an idea in my head of the nails I wanted to sport to my best friend's birthday shindig this weekend.. But it just wasn't happening (I'm not saying what I was TRYING to do, as I still have going to do them.. I just have to try practicing a bit!) though in my trial and error period, I was ruining the white base I had already done.. I happened to have one of my trusty dotting tools close at hand.. I dotted on some of each colour, flipped the tool to the more pointed side, and dragged through the dots.. But I didn't do it nice and marble-like, I wanted to see the scrape marks.. So this almost-fail-yet-last-minute-save mani was born.. I used Orly White Out & Au Champagne as my base.. Then we have some swirled action of Sinful Colors Unicorn (yellow), Spoiled Cotton Mouth, and Essie A Crewed Interest. Simple and effective.. Right? I hope everyone is having a great Monday - mine was pretty rough, I'll be happy to put myself to bed and e

Squares

I stumbled across an image on this tumblr (it was on page 2 during my search) and I instantly saved the image and could not get it out of my mind.. Then I remembered I had some new Butter London (seriously, I feel like they should just create the polish line at my place.. so I can test them all out first.. That is how much I love them!) polish that I had my eyes on to use!! I used Butter London Cheeky Chops (yellow) and Slapper .. I have said this before, and I will say it again right now.. I freaking love Butter London nail polish. I know it is a bit on the pricey side, but seriously.. So worth it! The only one that I have that I am not in love with is 'No More Waity, Katie'. If you're thinking about getting one or five - please do yourself a favour and get it/them, you will love this brand. Ok, I will stop my fangirling there! You might have noticed that I clipped down my nails. They were all doing fine, no breaks or chips on EITHER hand, but I had a moment of

A Few Unposted Manis

I have a few unposted manis that I figured I could toss together for possible viewing pleasure.. Or not? I try to keep a notebook around listing all the colours I did use.. I don't know them all off by heart here.. BUT.. If anyone needs to really, really know, let me know in the comments and I can do some investigating!

A Whale Of A Good Time

I am a HUGE fan of the nail art over at Mad Manis and have a wealth of their work saved in my inspiration folder. The other night as I was perusing through, I saw my saved photo of the Whale mani, and knew that is exactly what I had to copy! Ok, now, I really love them.. BUT.. I kind of feel like they are more like psychotic killing whales.. They have that crazy look in their eyes! I'm also really glad that people seemed to know what they were.. They actually sort of remind me of 'Boo' from the Mario games.. Sort of. I used China Glaze First Mate , OPI No Room For The Blues , Daisy Nail Lacquer Sachet Pink , Orly White Out , Orly Liquid Vinyl , and a dotting tool that I received from Born Pretty . Oh, and as I write this, Ben is ringing his 'attention' bell (we call it something else, but that is kind of inappropriate, so I will save you all from having to hear what it is really called). It must mean he wants me to share a new photo of him with all of you.

Stippling Fail..

..Yet I still kind of like it. I was looking at this gem over at Quite Polished - and loved it! I was going to give the whole black and white activity a whirl, but I had a newly acquired Butter London polish calling my name.. So I used that instead. Now, I failed because.. Well, because I just did. This should really be called 'Dots', but I can do that any time.. So it is a stippling fail without the regrets! I used Butter London Bossy Boots for my base and used Orly White Out along with a dotting tool (from Born Pretty ) Some day I will try this again.. And I will have better results. And, again, I just have to say how much I freaking LOVE Butter London polish.. Everything about them (to me) is perfection. I just had to toss that out there again.. If anyone has ever considered buying them but are kind of put off by the price: they are totally and completely worth it. And no, I'm not sponsored in any way, shape, or form to say this. I'm just telling you a

My Birthday Shindig Nails

For my birthday shindig, which was last Saturday.. I already knew what I was wearing clothing -wise, but I wanted something that was sort of matchy.. Because I wanted to use Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday as my accent.. Then Butter London Trout Pout came in to my life. I honestly could not be happier!! It is an amazing colour by an excellent brand. I actually think Butter London is quickly climbing to the top of my favourites list.. Which is great and sad - mostly for my wallet. That weeping you hear - yeah, my wallet. Though, as most people say: you get what you pay for. Yes, I have to shell out for cash for the Butter London, and I believe I get less in the bottle compared to other brands, but, I love it. The formula is perfection.. I have a few more on the way.. I think my eyes just glazed over. Enough with that hmmm.. I do apologize.. These photos were taken the day AFTER my shindig.. There was some intense games of quarters going on.. My nails are a little hurting, but you

Metallic 4 Life

This is a polish that my sister bought my for my birthday.. And I love it! I had seen it awhile back and she has remembered me commenting on it (clever girl!) and I am glad that she did. It really doesn't seem THAT exciting.. Black base.. Silver glitter of various sizes.. Ho-hum.. But I kind of feel like it is.. Magical. I apologize that my nails were a little beat up.. I either take a photo right after painting before clean up time, or too late.. After I have done activities and my nails look like garbage.. I can never "win"! Anyways, this was 2 coats of OPI Metallic 4 Life .. Then.. On a blog the other day (I went back well over a week in my blog roll and could not find it - she used Lady Muck as a base.. And purple over top.. With striping tape.. Anyone??) - but I was like 'oooh.. I will accent nail this up with the striping tape and Silver Shatter! It will be all criss-cross-y and shatter-y'.. Nah. It didn't shatter.. But I still kind of like it. And

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Of course I just have enough time before my DAY ends to get this all posted up.. I meant to do it earlier in the day.. But.. You know how fun, busy days can be! I knew for my actual birthday nails, I wanted cupcake nails.. And I randomly stumbled across this tutorial , so I went with that - and I love it! For these bad boys, I used: Daisy Nail Lacquer Pink Sachet , Orly White Out , Joe Butter , Essie Silken Cord , China Glaze Make Some Noise , China Glaze Entourage , and OPI No Room For The Blues . I got to spend my day with my siblings.. And it was so much fun! The weather was fairly nice - but extremely windy.. So we took advantage of that! We went mini golfing.. then to Ruckers.. And it was just really great! Then it was home time to enjoy family supper, amazing cake, and a few episodes of 'Sons of Anarchy'. Now I am going to show you some of the gifts I received.. From my family, of course.. I love that they all seem to know exactly what to get for me! My sib
