Dotting Tool Adventure

Hello all!

So.. I had an idea in my head of the nails I wanted to sport to my best friend's birthday shindig this weekend.. But it just wasn't happening (I'm not saying what I was TRYING to do, as I still have going to do them.. I just have to try practicing a bit!) though in my trial and error period, I was ruining the white base I had already done..

I happened to have one of my trusty dotting tools close at hand.. I dotted on some of each colour, flipped the tool to the more pointed side, and dragged through the dots.. But I didn't do it nice and marble-like, I wanted to see the scrape marks.. So this almost-fail-yet-last-minute-save mani was born..

I used Orly White Out & Au Champagne as my base.. Then we have some swirled action of Sinful Colors Unicorn (yellow), Spoiled Cotton Mouth, and Essie A Crewed Interest. Simple and effective.. Right?

I hope everyone is having a great Monday - mine was pretty rough, I'll be happy to put myself to bed and end this day - though I will say..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GORDO!! I love youuu!!

See you all again soon (:

Ooh, yeah. My manicurist told me to do this but I'll need a dotting tool first. Thank you for sharing.

@jaljen: I get good vibes from your manicurist! You could even use a thumbtack - just something with a point and you'd be good to go!

PassionForPolish: Thannnnk you very much!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
