My Hello Kitty Mani For Stephie

A few months back, while on the P.A.A facebook page, a gal named Stephie had posted something about a birthday group. It sounded rad. I posted something about it sounding like fun, and she offered me to pick a month - just like that I was a part of something, no questions asked.

Stephie got a group of 12 people together in no time, and immediately got us all connected and interacting with each other. Now, when I go on to FB on my computer, my 'Dirty Dozen' group is the first thing I go check on. It is weird had quickly you can become attached to a group of people..

Well. Something awful happened yesterday. We were told that Stephie had passed away. I should have known something was off. I had not seen an update from her in a few days - but I knew she was visiting with her sisters, so I figured she was just really busy.

It is unbelievable how quickly a life can be taken away. I didn't actually (ok, in real life?) know Stephie, but I felt an instant friendship form with her. She was very loving and kind - and things in her life were starting to go in a good direction for her. So sad.

Silver (another awesome gal from the group) had mentioned doing a Hello Kitty themed mani in her honour to post up for today. I knew I had to do something for her. So Stephie, my nail polish loving darling, this one is for you!

I knew Stephie wasn't a huge fan of red, so I went with some pink activity instead. I also tossed on some glitter polish that she had sent me during my birthday month. Her presence will definitely be missed by all of us within The Dirty Dozen and the nail polish community.

Take care today everyone, and remember to tell your loved ones how much you love them - at any and all times that you have a chance.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
