Lightning Nails

I had repinned this photo of lightning nails a little while back, and I went to the watermarked source on tumblr and just found a wealth of nail art ideas - so yay! I just took the idea and sort of went my own way.. I really like them as I look at them right here, right now, in front of me - but for some reason the photo does not give me the same 'oooh, must ogle!' effect. Oh well! I am also sorry about the bit of wear on the thumb - it has been a crazy weekend and I didn't take photos until this morning. Whoops! I used: a base of Orly Liquid Vinyl , then I sponged on a mix of Orly White Out , OPI A Grape Fit! , and OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips (still hilarious) - then I used Orly White Out again for the bolts. I hope everyone has had a tremendous weekend! I know that I did - and now I'm extremely tired out - bring on the work week! (Not really though.. can we just fast forward to next weekend please?)

Review & Swatch: Rainbow Honey - The Equestria Collection Pt. 1

I figured it was finally time for me to attempt to start doing some swatch and review type posts.. My untried stash is starting to get out of control! I for see this as a way to help with that.. Hopefully? Anyways! I feel that I have something SUPER AWESOME to share with you all today.. A friend (Hi Collette! - if you read this) had posted something about this brand in our birthday group.. Of course I had to go and see what she was talking about.. I was basically blown away - this collection looked amazing - and I'm a complete impulse buyer, so I immediately ordered the full collection, in minis. That was, what I feel, a mistake. These gems arrived to me today. Ok, first off.. I have to say, I am kind of impressed with the packaging - I have yet to come across any company that does this.. Each polish was in its own little labelled box - and the box has a heart cutout to display the polish. I legitimately heard my heart gasp with delight. Seriously. Also included is a really n

Lush Lacquer Birthday Cake

Today I have a little "swatch" to share with you all.. That and at least it is something to post - right? I have been on a bit of an 'indie polish' kick lately.. I haven't even been paying any attention to.. name brands? lately.. I have a wealth of new babies coming soon.. So I figure I should actually start sharing them! I ordered from Lush Lacquer mostly because of my birthday group - July's lady said she doesn't own any indie polish, so I scoured Etsy, looking at so many pretty polish.. Then I stumbled on Lush Lacquer.. Awesome! I ordered a couple of me and a couple for her.. And now I am going to share one of the couple with all of you! This polish actually does remind me of those "funfetti" kind of cakes.. I love it! This was also just two cots of the polish - I didn't even put a base. I figure though, if I did put some white underneath, it might make the polish pop more - but I feel like it does a great job all on its own.. Yo

Sticks 'n Stones GIVEAWAY!

Good morning everyone! Just wanted to post up a quick announcement about a little giveaway I'm doing.. I am going to tie it in to two things, but technically it will just be one.. I'll explain! I recently hit 400 followers and wanted to have a giveaway to celebrate that - aka celebrate all of you being completely awesome and following my nail polish endeavours! But the things I wanted to include in my giveaway keep being unavailable to me.. Except for Cover Band's Sticks 'n Stones and that is only because when I had ordered my bottle, I ordered a second to giveaway.. ALSO.. I decided to .com my blog. I had talked about it with my dad (he actually talks about how when he googles my name now my blog shows up and how he sees the images some times and that he thinks I'm awesome) and I declared: when I hit 400 followers, I'm going to .com it up! So I did. SO! While I say this is to celebrate both of these marvelous things, I still want to have a more.. substant

Retro Nails

Honestly, all I can think of when I look at these nails is the era of my favourite music: the 80s. That makes me feel that calling these "retro nails" is fitting. Go with it, ok? My lines are very shaky on these bad boys.. I blame it on the fact that I did these at 2 in the morning (Saturday) AND Big Brother after dark is suddenly on a channel available to me.. And I hadn't watched the premiere episode yet.. and I wanted to see the 4 returners.. And I was angry that Brittany was one of them.. Then I was okay because Janelle is back.. So you see.. I was distracted!! I got the idea from this PHOTO I had seen via tumblr.. I wish my lines were more crisp, but when I'm not studying my picture of them, we're good - and I quite like them! Also, I owe an apology! Apparently my blog has been giving malware warnings? I had no idea until it was brought to my attention the other evening. I checked with google security and did these verification things, but it claims t

Squiggly Colourful Ombre Nails

Yeah, I said "squiggly".. I know.. Weird! I stumbled across some amazing nails on tumblr, I do believe.. I hit my print screen button, as I usually do, so I can save the image later on (I have a program for all my screen shots to be saved for my perusal later on).. Yeah.. Silly Dee! This isn't YOUR computer. Le sigh. Thankfully my brain had some sort of photographic memory moment and I was able recall the general idea behind the nails.. I apologize to the original poster, if I stumble across your photo again (which I should), I will give credit where credit is due! These are the nails.. And I received many compliments on them! I used Brucci polish for the green and yellow: the green doesn't have a label, but the yellow is Emmi & Olli Go Bananas, then it is OPI What's With The Cattitude, OPI Ogre The Top Blue (index finger), and OPI Elephantastic Pink, as well as OPI A Grape Fit (middle and ring), then the white is China Glaze White on White. Now I just

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some
