Girly Bits Slapdash Collection

Oh hey there - today I am going to share with you all my swatches from the Slapdash collection releases by Girly Bits.

I was introduced to this collection, and to the line itself, by my awesome pal Silver - I think we both knew that I needed to have the polish 'Banana Hammock' in my life asap - but that is besides the point!

Unfortunately when I put my order in, Cu Blue was out of stock - Pam had contacted me and gave me a few options on what I could do about the out of stock lovely.. I told her to just grab another polish and toss it in with the rest.. Side note: I love these polish and will have to complete the collection at some point in time.

As I mentioned, Cu Blue was out of stock, so in its place I received Sailors Delight - and I'm actually pretty happy about it - I feel that gem fits right in with the rest of these bad boys!

Banana Hammock.. A great name and a great polish! I freaking LOVE yellow nail polish.. Though sometimes I feel my skin tone looks a little strange with it - I honestly do not care. I'd wear it no matter what! This is a great banana yellow (obviously..) with some light blue shimmer tossed in - you cannot really see it in this photo - but trust me, it is there. This is 4 coats.

Glo Worm. Green. Bright. Golden yellow shimmer. LOVE! I think if I went with one more coat - it would have been perfect.. Or I could toss something underneath.. It is amazing. This is 3 coats.

Jelly Shoes.. It is stunning. In this photo, you can see the shimmer this polish gives off. It is bright and wonderful.. And of course the name has me thinking of those classy summer jelly sandals.. This is only 2 coats!

Arctic Sunrise.. At first, looking at this polish in the bottle, I was sort of like 'oh, meh'.. Then I put it on and basically starting fist pumping - the shimmer really makes this polish something special. It is purple-y and lovely. This is 3 coats.

And my random toss in - Sailors Delight. It is a blood orange colour with extra orange shimmer. I know it doesn't belong in this specific collection, but I do not feel like it is out of place - it fits right in - and I'm really quite happy to have it as a part of my collection now. This is 4 coats.

Overall I am extremely happy with these colours. They don't say summer, they scream it in your face with a healthy dusting of shimmer. I can see some fun skittle activity with these at some point!!

Also, Pam was a delight to talk to during the process of trying to figure out what to do about Cu Blue. AND.. this is all based in Canada. I didn't know - and when the package arrived, I was jazzed. If any of you get a chance, go check out her polish - they are lovely and definitely well worth it!!

ALSO.. I did get in contact with the winner of Sicks 'n Stones - Faiza Q had that gem shipped off to her last Friday, so hopefully it arrives somewhat soon - just because the waiting game kind of sucks!!

AND.. my friend Tina, from my nail polish birthday group, started up a blog of her own - so you should go check it OUT

I have also added a little link on the side bar (on the right) to my newly made facebook fan page, as well as a link to my twitter. I think that is all I had to catch up on..

Well, have an awesome day everyone! See you all again soon!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
