Day 28: Lacquistry Lake Placid On Acid

Hey everyone!! THE LAST DAY! What an absolutely crazy (and wonderful!) adventure this has been.. and a little tiring - but in a really great way! I said the last two days were going to be polish that I was really excited to share with you - now, I get to use this on a complete technicality.. which I am going to explain. I had the "original" bottle of Lake Placid On Acid .. and I thought it was great. I did read about Jenna having to remake some polish because of bleeding, etc, but I honestly didn't think anything of it. Then, a couple of weeks ago, there was nail mail waiting for me.. and I thought "strange, I haven't ordered anything lately.." - it was from Jenna and it was a replacement bottle of LPOA.. I honestly didn't think I could like the polish anymore than the original. I was wrong. So. Beautiful! I put two layers of LPOA over a base of Butter London British Racing Green.. and I absolutely love this. I did happen to have a

Day 27: The Hungry Asian Cookies (and) Cream

Hey everyone! I decided that for today and tomorrow (my last day - eeek!) that I would choose two polish that mean something to me. Today I am going to be sharing Cookies & Cream made by the awesome Kae aka The Hungry Asian. When I first started blogging, I immediately started following her. She is the reason behind many of my polish purchases.. heh. She started "frakening" polish awhile back.. and I had a HUGE lemming for Cookies & Cream - but, at the time, she wasn't shipping to Canada. Then, when she started to ship to Canada, I would always miss the restock times.. Then I just sort of.. forgot about it. Then, a little while back, while stumbling through all the amazing gems on etsy.. I saw a photo.. I didn't need to see the seller or the name.. I knew. It was ordered almost immediately. And it has sat.. until now. It still makes me heart smile. And now that it is mine? Constant smiling heart! I decided to not use undies on this. It is

Day 26: Pure Ice Electric, Pure Ice Jaguar, NYX Royal Purple, China Glaze Liquid Crystal

Hey everyone - 2 more days! Eeep! Just a side note.. I actually have more untried nail polish then I had days in the challenge.. I'm still going to have some left that I will have to integrate in to other posts.. Fun (: I really, really, REALLY wanted to do Galaxy nails again.. But, it was going to be more challenging because I had to solely use untried polish as I have so many to go through yet.. I did it. It is kind of iffy, and I didn't get to do cleanup before going to work.. and then after work, they were pretty beat up. I do apologize for that.. Not too terrible though! It started with a base of Pure Ice Electric! (thanks Collette), then it was a sponging party with Pure Ice Jaguar (thanks again Collette!), NYX Royal Purple (thanks Christina!), and CG Liquid Crystal. Then I did some dots and "stars" with Orly White Out. I like them as they are different colours than I would have wanted to choose. Did I mention I really like galaxy nails? Well, see y

Day 25: Nail-Venturous Floam

Hey everyone! Today I was using Floam.. I bought this off of my awesome friend Des (who will be starting to blog again soon and I cannot wait!!) I still have this bottle that is the "original" - ninja polish has taken over creating it.. so the bottle is a bit different - still the same product though - you can pick it up HERE when it is back in stock. It might be kind of hard to tell.. but it is supposed to be Floam drips.. I really, really love the whole drippy manis, and in my mind this looked so awesome.. though I don't feel it looks as cool as it could be.. Maybe I will try it again with a different base colour.. and maybe an outline? We shall see! I used Kayla's tutorial for drippy nails . Have a great day everyone - see you for day 26!!

Day 24: ToughAsNailsLacquer The Baconian Method

Hey everyone! I don't think I have ever officially said it, but I will not just to clarify: I freaking love indie nail polish! I was trying to explain it to the ma the other day.. I don't think she really understood it - but for those of you that don't know.. It is awesome gals (and guys!) that make polish on their own.. and they are always amazing combos - whether it be colours with glitters, just glitters, just colours, shimmers, a mix of everything, whatever.. AND the names always make my heart smile! In fact, there are a few that I have bought solely because of their name. Seriously. I was really excited when I saw a post about 'The Breakfast Combo' polish.. but, at the time, she wasn't delivering to Canada. I had told her in our conversation that if she ever changed her mind and would ship to Canada - she should contact me. I expected to never hear from her ever again. A few weeks later, I received a message from that the polish was now being shipped to

Day 23: Nubar Baby Pink & Claire's Candy Shop

Hey everyone! I was really debating whether or not to share this blah nail activity with you all.. but.. I have said before: I don't hide major mistakes from you all.. So, here goes! In my mind this was supposed to look awesome.. But apparently Candy Shop is muchos more opaque than I thought it would be.. The pink shades were so different.. Then it was a sponged mess going on and a solid coat here, and more sponging and then I just said 'enough' and snapped a photo of three. Zoiks. Both of the nail polishes are amazing.. I just wish I would have used them differently.. Well, moving on.. I hope you are all having a great day - and I will see you again tomorrow!! Remember to check out Silver's blog to see what kind of rad post she will do for day 23! (I know she has been super busy lately, and has fallen a bit behind, but you should still go check out her blog - she does amazing work!!)

Day 22: Rainbow Honey Koi Pond

Hey everyone! Today I share with you an absolute gem from Rainbow Honey. A month and a half ago (or so) I put in my first order and got the Equestria Collection.. and loved it! When the Sakura Matsuri collection came out, I was heavy on my no-buy kick.. But then I saw Koi Pond (and one other) and had to have it.. I was thinking about what to layer is over.. I was going to go with a safe black.. or white.. or maybe even green.. Then I was like 'koi.. orange!!' I was going to use a different orange, but Essie Orange, It's Obvious! basically screamed in my face to use it.. So I did. Lookkkkkkk at the prettiness!! This is two coats of OIO! and one coat of Koi Pond. Yeah, one coat and you get that much fun-time glitter bomb activity! I wore this to the wedding we attended on Saturday.. and while we were out running errands in between.. I received many compliments! I love this! You can get Koi Pond for yourself by clicking riiiiight HERE Also go check out Silver'

Day 21: EmilydeMolly Black Forest

Hey everyone! Today I am going to share another EmilydeMolly polish with you.. And it is one that I was destined to absolutely love. It is black based, with tiny black glitter AND large green hex glitter.. Sooo pretty! This was three coats of Black Forest over Orly Liquid Vinyl. Black Forest can be purchased HERE . I did matte-ify this, but, I kind of forgot to photograph it - well, actually, I thought that I had.. and I did not. Well, this is awkward. I hope everyone is having a great day and I will see you again tomorrow! Remember to go see Silver's post for today as well!!

Day 20: EmilydeMolly When Planets Collide

Hello everyone! Yesterday a package arrived for me from Australia.. I couldn't figure out what I had ordered from Australia and the name didn't ring any bells.. Open it up.. No labels, notes, or anything else.. Then I remembered an order I put in via esty a looooong time ago (June 24th to be exact).. Well, despite the lack of note or labeling, the polish I am about to show you, in my opinion, is stunning!! This is 'When Planets Collide' and I love it! It is a black jelly base (I used dark blue undies!) with blue and red glitter activity.. And it is a real gem! I used 3 coats. THEN I did something I NEVER do.. I used a matte top coat after taking these pics.. just for kicks.. Um, why haven't I been doing this fun-time matte thing before now?! You can order this lovely polish HERE - though I believe she isn't doing international shipping at the moment, but will be again at some point. I have two others from her to test out and show at so

Day 19: Layla Magneffect Metallic Sky

Hey everyone!! I happened to have a magnet polish sitting in my untried stash.. I have tried the Nails Inc fishnet bad boy to very unenthusiastic results.. Needless to say I was very uninterested in actually giving this gem a whirl. BUT. I did remember that I made my bff choose the colour I got.. and the cap made it looks awesome.. ehh.. why not? Super glad I did! I received a wealth of compliments! The effect is also really great! My pinky is my favourite - and that was done using two coats - the rest were in one - when I go to use this again, I'm doing two coats - or with undies.. I think it looks like it has more depth? Maybe it is just me. Tough to say! Have an awesome day everyone.. See you for day 20 aka we are on the home stretch!! Remember to go visit Silver's blog to see what she posted up for today!!

Day 18: L.A Colors Wavelength, Wet n Wild Give Me A Price Quote, and Cult Nails Time Traveler

Hello everyone! I hate when I go about doing my nails without a plan.. It is always some weird mess that I don't really like.. So that is basically what you're about to see.. I used Wavelength as a base for all of my nails, except for my ring finger, which was Time Traveler. Then I did activity using Time Traveler and Give Me A Price Quote. I did the thumb and pinky stuff with a nearby pencil.. I was taking notes/studying/procrastinating.. good times! That is all for today.. See you back tomorrow!! Remember to check out Silver's blog to see what she will have posted up for today!!

Day 17: Revlon Whimsical

Hey everyone! Just sneaking in with a really quick/almost late, but not quite - post! I do apologize for my super dry hands and cuticle areas. My hands are angry. Weather changes always make my eczema go crrrrazy.. and changing my nail polish everyday hasn't helped - I figure the nail polish remover is also out for the souls of my fingers - moving on.. Now, this is done using Revlon Whimsical (thankies Amy!!) BUT.. One finger is done using Deborah Lippmann Glitter In The Air - any guesses as to which finger? I will answer that tomorrow! I was going to layer it over a white or a blue, but I wanted to check out the build-ability.. This is four coats. Another 3+ coats and I figure it would have opaque.. plus I liked that it was like this zombie-esque skin colour.. Love! See you all tomorrow - and remember to go scope out Silver's  blog

Day 16: NYX Boho, Princessa Everglade Sparkle, Princessa Green Apple, Sinful Colors Kissy, and Billie Electric Yellow

Hey everyone! Today I used a wealth of beautiful greens that I received from my birthday group (thanks to Christina, Silver, Ro, and Danielle!!!) I also used the technique from yesterday that I picked up HERE Um, love this technique, and I love the colours I used.. Well, the shades! So fun! I started with a base of NYX Boho, then put blobs of Princessa Everglade Sparkle, Princessa Green Apple, Sinful Colors Kissy, and Billie Electric Yellow and swirled them around with acetone. Super fun to look at and super easy to do! I apologize for my hands. They are in rough safe. And you'll notice my thumb. I do that kind of damage to myself. I pick at my hands until I remove chunks. I'm so kind! See you all again tomorrow! AND remember to head over to Silver's blog to view her amazing posts!!

Day 15: Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy, Essie Bikini So Teeny, and Tough As Nails Lacquer It's All Over Now

Hey there everyone! So, I used a technique that I saw in this VIDEO to create these nails.. Sadly I waited until after I did a wealth of baking and dishes after work to snap a photo. STORY OF MY LIFE. There is already some chipping. Just saying though: love the colours I used and I love this technique. I think you will be seeing it a lot more. And again tomorrow. It is a base of Orly White Out, then I applied random splotches of Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy, Essie Bikini So Teeny, and Tough As Nails Lacquer It's All Over Now. Love these colours together.. and yes. That is about it. Hope you all had a tremendous day and I will see you all tomorrow!! And remember to go over to Silver's blog to peep her post for today!!

Day 14: Butter London Branwen's Feather

Hey everyone! A quick and super late post for day 14!! This weekend was a blur - an enjoyable blur - but very busy.. so busy that I didn't get to do anything "fun" with the nails.. I probably won't for tomorrow either.. Ugh. Those are the breaks sometimes though hmm.. This is a dark "moody" purple, or a chocolate purple as I like to call it. It has micro shimmer activity that I wasn't able to capture in any of my photos, but it is there! And it is lovely! This was a gift from Steve, who is a member of the ol' birthday group!! That is all for today - time for bed! See you tomorrow! And remember to go see Silver's blog to not only see what she posted for today, but just in general - she does awesome work!!

Day 13: Butter London The Black Knight

Hey there everyone - sorry my post is a bit later today. I didn't feel like doing my nails for today last night.. I was just lazy and wanted to give my nails a night off - though that really isn't necessary, but meh. Today I will be sharing Butter London The Black Knight.. I am shocked I actually have two Butter London polish in my untried selection - but that is also a great thing.. Anyways.. This is 3 coats. I thought it looked flawless - but then I studied the photos.. I see a few "bald" or "thinning" spots, but that is all right - I figure anyone else won't notice them too much. I thought this applied quite nicely, but it is Butter London, I kind of expect that. Plus, it is just simply gorgeous and dried super quick! I did use two coats of top coat though as I felt one coat left it still feeling gritty. I also love this because it matches my outfit for the night without being too matchy-matchy! Just a little extra!! I hope everyone is havi

Day 12: Cult Nails My Kind of Cool Aid, NYC Big Money Frost, Pure Ice Celestial, Sinful Colors Unicorn, Spoiled Pet My Peacock

Ohh yeah, this is happening. 5 untrieds in 1 post. As I write this, I keep looking at these nails - because to me, in real life, they look amazing! Yet when I was looking through the photos, it looked kind of.. not amazing. It all started the night before. I could have been a day ahead with posts.. But.. I had just painted my nails with Celestial, and topped it with Pet My Peacock. It was just sort of.. blah. Then I was like 'why not peacock feather nails?!'.. then I hit the internet for inspiration photos. I stumbled across this POST - and I knew I had colours to match.. and they all happened to be untried. YESSSSSS!! Started with My Kind of Cool Aid.. Then I did some "feathering" with Big Money Frost (thankies Danielle!), then I used Unicorn (thankies Des!!)((edit: whoops, apparently I have used this gem once before.. well then..)), then some Celestial activity (thankies Collette!).. Then I just felt it wasn't finished.. It needed some pizazz.. So Pet

Day 11: Daisy Nail Lacquer Blue-moon Streaks and Shaken Pur-pill

Hello everyone! Day 11 brings a couple more polish that I actually received from my 28-day challenge P.I.C (I now desperately want to watch 'Role Models'). This actually worked out more awesome than how I pictured it in my mind.. Though I had wanted to execute it differently, I still feel it looks great AND I received a wealth of compliments throughout the day. I started with a base of China Glaze White on White, then I added a few coats of Daisy Nail Lacquer . I wanted to start the gradient when the polish was still wet, but I went out for a walk instead. When I got back home, just before I went to bed, I added a coat from about the halfway point of my nails upwards with Shaken Pur-pill.. then I added another quick coat at about the quarter mark and up. I actually think it looks quite fun. I really do like how it all turned out. And the confetti glitter activity makes my heart smile. Hope everyone is having a great day - see you all back tomorrow!! Oh, yes, remembe

Day 10: Essie Mojito Madness & China Glaze Purr-fect Plum

Hey everyone! These were the nails I was going to enter in to the Chalkboard Nails nail art contest that is going on right meow, but I didn't LOVE them enough.. I think my base colour was too "dark" and I could have chosen a lighter blue. Oh well, back to the drawing board. The one plus about these? I did use two previously unused polish - just in case (: These "bacteria" nails are based off of the fabric I found HERE . The base is Essie Mojito Madness (which I happen to be madly in love with now), the light purple is China Glaze Sweet Hook , the dark purple is China Glaze Purr-Fect Purple (thankies fall luxebox!), the "light" blue is OPI No Room For The Blues , the dark blue is China Glaze First Mate , and the white is China Glaze White on White . Well, that is all for today! See you back again for day 11! And be sure to check out Silver's blog to see what she posted up for today - take care!!

Day 9: Essie Fiji, NYX Dynamic Glitter, and Wet n Wild Stars & Stripes

Yes, you have read that correctly: a 3 for 1 deal.. and I am not going to lie, this is extremely cutesy and girly and lovely. I pinned a photo of this POST from Neverland Nail Blog - and I think she got it from somewhere else.. and.. well, where ever this did originate from - you're a genius! I loved the purple.. and I happen to have a lovely lilac purple to use from my untrieds.. but I didn't have any purple glitter (that I felt was good enough to use).. As I was perusing what I could use.. I spotted Essie Fiji .. Yup, I wanted to use that adorable pink. Sitting close by was NYX Dynamic Glitter .. Hey, awesome! I will do another glitter accent mani - nbD - two birds, one stone. I was jazzed about life. Then I was scrolling through pinterest.. saw the mani again and I thought.. why not do it with the pinks?! AND GET STAR GLITTER FROM WnW STARS & STRIPES ! kjhbkxjdgfhkdjg.. I have momentary spells of genius-dome. Adorable, right?! I did 3 thin coats of Fiji , th

Day 8: Sally Girl Grape & Nails Inc Special Effects Sloane

Hello everyone!! Another two for one day.. I think I might have to keep doing this to just get through all of my untrieds.. I feel like this should make me feel bad, but it doesn't at all!! The Sally Girl polish is actually scented - which is probably why they went with the name "grape" as I feel the colour is not grape-like at all - but that doesn't make it any less lovely! It is more grey-purple-taupe in my eyes. I honestly didn't know it was scented, as it doesn't say anywhere on the bottle.. yet as I was painting my nails I said: I smell grapes.. whaaa? Then it all made sense. The Nails Inc is from their Special Effects line and it is "3D glitter".. It is really in your face sparkle-y in certain lights - I obviously quite like that! And the base colour is opaque within two coats.. I cannot complain about that!! It is just really gritty. I even topped it with two coats of top coat.. I bet it will be a complete beast to remove. Oh well! I

Day 7: OPI Don't Touch My Tutu! & Rainbow Connection

Hey there everyone!! Yet another two-fer post.. And this one I am extremely excited about as I think I found a method that I really quite like!! I finally got to try my hand at the whole 'jelly sandwich' effect.. and, I think it is gorgeous and fun. I started off with 3 thin coats of Don't Touch My Tutu! followed by a layer of Rainbow Connection , then another coat of DTMT. I liked it, and probably should have stopped there... But, me being me, of course I couldn't! I then layered the whole thing with another coat of RC and a topper of DTMT. I like the extra activity! When I was done, this really reminded me of my bff - so I had sent her a message telling her such and I even bbm'ed a quick snapshot over. She said it reminded her of birthday cake - which I think is a pretty accurate description! I have some nubar jelly polish to play with as well - expect another 1-2 jelly sandwich posts from me within the next few days. 7 days out of the 28 already! Ti

Day 6: Princessa Pacific Sparkle & Colorado Rapid

Hello everyone!! Day 6 is another two for one type of day.. I couldn't decide which of these gems I wanted to use first - so I went with both.. But then I realized that they were sort of similar.. Which is when I was like 'derp - split nails!' The more blue toned polish is Pacific Sparkle , which makes the more purple-y polish Colorado Rapid . The white is Orly White Out . This lovely bad boys were actually sent to me from Silver during my month in the birthday group.. Which brings me to my next request: remember to scope out her blog to see what she has used for day 6!! See you all for day 7 -- and random question: who else is starting to get really excited for October aka HALLOWEEN time!! I am. It is my favourite time of the year!!

Day 5: Spoiled Cotton Mouth

Hello everyone!! Day 5 brings you mustache nails using Spoiled Cotton Mouth as the base colour (side note: this lovely pink was sent to me by my awesome pal Desiree !!).. I didn't quite execute these the way I had wanted to.. but that is all right - I only have to wear them for a few more hours until it is time to change them up for day 6.. Fair enough, right?? I have really enjoyed using fabric prints for nail art design ideas.. My favourite site is spoonflower.com AND you can find my inspiration print right HERE The black activity was done using Orly Liquid Vinyl . That is all for today - see you back for day 6!! P.S - remember to check out Silver's blog to see what she did for day 5 !!

Day 4: OPI Color So Hot It Berns

Hey everyone! Sorry my post today is a little bit later than usual! It has been a whirl wind, slightly suck fest-y, kind of a day.. Up until now, that is! I stayed up too late last night to make up my blog post for the morning (we are working our way through the first season of American Horror Story.. Does anyone that reads this blog watch that show?! SO GOOD!!!) - so I decided to snag all the sleep I could, wake up, take photos, and write a blog post all before work. Absolutely no problem there! I woke up feeling well rested for having less than 5 hours of sleep. Was ready within 10 minutes - leaving myself 20 minutes to take the photos and write the post! 15 mins and change left to write up the post.. My computer had restarted itself in the night. Lately, when my sweet baby computer restarts, it goes to a boot screen and my nightmare. I kept trying to restart in to safe mode to run a file check so that maybe by the time I was home from work, my love would be up and running agai

Day 3: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark & Wet n Wild Back Alley Deals

Hello everyone! Day 3.. Silver and I actually did a touch of collaborating today.. Because we're that awesome!! She said 'purple' and I said 'yup' - well, it sort of went like that.. Which means I had to slightly cheat and actually dig through the bag, but I'm sure that can be forgiven!! I grabbed LPAD immediately - I knew I wanted to use that gem. I used to own a mini of it - but I never did get to use it.. When I finally had a chance to grab a bottle of it, I did. I hear about it so often that I figured I should just own it. (Side note: fantastic purchase!!) As I was putting the other polish back that had to be moved out for me to have some digging room, I realized I was holding on to WnW Back Alley Deals.. It is a purple and fuchsia glitter. My immediate thought: accent nail. Secondary thought: the cool kid taped accent nail that Silver did on her day 1. Yes and yes! Ok, me and tape mani activity don't get along very well, so I'm extremely

Day 2: Nicole by OPI The Next CEO

Hello everyone! Day 2 of the 28 day challenge brings out a lovely Nicole by OPI polish.. I received this gem for my birthday from my awesome pal Brittany!! I lovingly call her something different, but it isn't very blog-appropriate, so if she happens to be reading this, know that your nickname is what I'd much rather put (: Anyways.. This polish is great. Two coats. Gold. No complaints! I wasn't really inspired to do anything else. I did try some stamping on top.. But my stamping skills are, in fact, not skills at all - just super embarrassing.. So just a swatch for today.. and probably for tomorrow - but then maybe I can get doing a bit more activity!! See you all tomorrow!! P.S - Remember to check out Silver's post for day 2 !!
