Day 24: ToughAsNailsLacquer The Baconian Method

Hey everyone!

I don't think I have ever officially said it, but I will not just to clarify: I freaking love indie nail polish! I was trying to explain it to the ma the other day.. I don't think she really understood it - but for those of you that don't know.. It is awesome gals (and guys!) that make polish on their own.. and they are always amazing combos - whether it be colours with glitters, just glitters, just colours, shimmers, a mix of everything, whatever.. AND the names always make my heart smile! In fact, there are a few that I have bought solely because of their name. Seriously.

I was really excited when I saw a post about 'The Breakfast Combo' polish.. but, at the time, she wasn't delivering to Canada. I had told her in our conversation that if she ever changed her mind and would ship to Canada - she should contact me. I expected to never hear from her ever again. A few weeks later, I received a message from that the polish was now being shipped to Canada. I immediately put in an order.. and these have been just waiting to be used.. I have used 2/3 now - my ma voted for me to use "the bacon one" first. Uhh, yeah!!

I am majorly in love with it. Though I should have photographed it BEFORE work - please forgive me!!

"The Baconian Method is a brown glitter topcoat. It includes brown, orange, red, black, and white glitters in hex and bar shapes. The Baconian Method can be found in the lab, tirelessly experimenting to develop the next great waffle topping."

I put two layers of it over Orly Liquid Vinyl.

I think I almost like the addition of the little white glitter the most.. It helps to add more depth.. I don't know - the whole thing just makes me smile!! So great!

I ordered mine HERE.

Remember to check out Silver's blog!!! See you all tomorrow!!

Have an awesome day everyone!

OK so I was searching Google for "Baconian Method" looking for some kind of handy schematic diagram, and one of the first things that shows up when I tab over to "Images" is your nails! Just thought it was hilarious... "Hrrrm, let's do some research for Sci-Lit class... Oh hey, it's Dee!"

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!!
Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you!

I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit.

Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this!

I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed.

Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time!

The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia

Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are!

This is actually …

Neutral Dots

Hey everyone!

Long time, no blog. I have just been soso bad about getting photos of my nails.. going to try to end the year on a high note. Fingers crossed!

I apologize for how drrrry my hands/cuticles look in these photos. You know how you know that your hands are dry, but you don't think they are that bad, and maybe they aren't, but a photo makes it look 50x worse? That.

I was able to snap up this set of 4 Butter London gem polishes awhile back.. very neutral, but it had a particular shade I had been eyeing.. but that is not what I have used here, naturally.

I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
Butter London Ta-ta!
Sally Hansen White On!
Dotting Tool
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

That is all for today. I have mostly been wearing a wealth of polka dotted nail art.. there is something I want to re-visit from a couple of years back - will probably do that this weekend, and then keep going from there. Halloween is on the horizon.. so.. that will be a thing too. Take care…

Black Marble (sort of).

Hey everyone!

-Insert gratuitous reasoning(s) of why I have been away-

Ok, now that that is out of the way, hi!

I just realized I still have a couple post photos stocked up. Sigh. I haven't even uploaded all that is currently living on my camera. The fear is real.

That is for another day. Mayhaps this weekend.

Until then.

I think I said it at some point on my blog, but I feel like 2017 is going to be the year that I constantly do faux marble nails. Note: not watermarbling. I have given in to that failed activity far too many times.

No, I mean the classy kind of marble. You know.

This time, I did it in reverse, because, why not?

 It counts, right?

Ugh. I love it.

All right, that is all for today. See you all again soon (I promise).
