My Favourite Polish: OPI Edition

Hey everyone!

I was watching a video by one of my favourite youtubers the other day (MakeupByTiffanyD) and it was her top 20 favourite nail polish (video HERE). As I was watching it.. I thought "this would make a great blog post!". I sat down at my book shelf of polish and started to select 20 polish. Errr.. 20 was more like 50+. Then I figured I could make it a mini-series of posts. YES! Perfect.

I decided to break down mostly by brand name. Then I have some that cannot be broken down by brand.. but as I get to those, I will mix and match and still get all my faves in. I might even have to do an all star post.. we shall see (:

The first grouping I will share with you is OPI. OPI Curry Up, Don't Be Late was one of the first polish I bought when I first started REALLY getting in to nail polish. The brand has always held a special place in my heart. That, and the formula is usually exceptional. These are in no particular order. Also, I decided on 10 OPI because I have 44 in my collection. Half is 22, and half of that is technically 11, but I felt 10 was a better fit. Enjoy!

My Top 10 Favourite OPI Polish:

Metallic 4 Life - I am not sure if this is one of faves because it is awesome, or because it has sentimental value to me. It is an awesome black base with various sized silver glitter, which already makes it amazing. BUT. I was shopping around before my birthday this past year, and I really wanted to buy this gem, but my sister was like 'but don't you have other polish that is similar?' so I sadly put it back. It was always on my mind. Open my gift from her: and there is was. All mine! I appreciate that she knew how badly I wanted it. And, well, I love using it!

A Roll In The Hague - This orange is PERFECT! It is basically opaque in a single coat and it is just stunning. I don't know why, but I really have a thing for orange polish.

Lincoln Park After Dark - I finally picked this gem up a few months ago. Now, while I haven't used it very often (YET), there are some polish that you just know you are going to get a wealth of use out of. This is one of them. A perfect vampy purple. What isn't to like?

Who The Shrek Are You? - My go to nail art green. It is just so bright, yet still kind of that puke-esque green. I have stopped using it as much.. I don't know how easy it would be to obtain another bottle. I must look in to that. I would be lost without it!

Gargantuan Green Grape - This is another polish that I got near the very beginning of my polish endeavours. I think you can probably tell by the amount of polish left. After seeing this photo - I now know I need another bottle. It is a perfect light green without being too minty. I swear that makes sense!

Sapphire In The Snow - I remember the day I bought this gem. I was at a shop called Dutch Growers.. and I was outraged that OPI nail polish was $11.99.. I had 3 picked out.. and I put them all back. Then, right when I went to pay for my two scarves, I told the cashier to wait a moment and dashed back over to the display and snatched up this polish. I had to have it - despite its overpriced price tag. I am forever grateful I did. It is a perfect deep purple-y colour without being "vampy" ala LPAD - or at least in my mind.

Color So Hot It Berns - ahh red polish! My sister was house sitting for a friend, and I was over there one afternoon watching flicks with her.. the friend told her that we were welcome to use a polish or two if we wanted (most of the polish she has, I already have), but then I saw this red and was like 'meh, red' - then I decided to use it and was like 'MUST HAVE!'. It takes a few coats to get opaque and my bottle is pretty runny, but I wouldn't trade it. The colour is perfection. It isn't my favourite red, but it is right up there. Lovely!

Shorts Story - this is my third bottle of Shorts Story. Okay, two and a half. I originally had it as a mini.. used that to the bitter end.. bought a full sized.. used it all up.. and now I have another. I adore pink polish (ok, all polish.. anyways..) but this is my go-to-for-nail-art-pink.. or it was, for a long, long time! It is a sweet girly pink. Just delightful!

No Room For The Blues - this is bottle 3 of NRFTB. It is another perfect for nail art blue. Whenever I need a blue, it is the first name to pop in to my head and 9/10, I end up using it.

Don't Touch My Tutu! - Now, I haven't used this very much.. but.. for a sheer polish, this is absolute perfection. It is innocent and lovely and perfect for glitter sandwiches. I can see myself using this a lot during the winter. It impressed me enough during its first use that it had to be in this list.

Now, I know there are some OPI polish that I have used more than these.. but as of right now - today - these would be the OPI polish that I wouldn't want to be without!

What about you, my amazing reader, what is a favourite OPI polish of yours? Or your top 10?! I'd love to know!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi
