Chanel Malice

Hey everyone!

Today is just a "swatch" post. A couple of weeks back.. I had to make a rather difficult decision to have one of my pet rabbit's put to sleep. It was an awful day, and an awful experience (though the vet and his assistant were absolutely lovely people - so their decency was very appreciated).

She would have been 10 years old in March. It hurt even more because she was born in this house, and now.. she is no longer around.. There is just her brother left from the group of five babies, and, well, there is Bennie, but he doesn't count for anything *grin*

The next day, while scoping out things on the internet.. I came across a site that was selling Chanel Malice.. A colour that I have been wanting ever since seeing a swatch of it.. But I had held off.. until the day after my sweet baby girl's death.. In a moment of absolute weakness, I ordered the polish.

When it arrived, it was a bittersweet moment. Here was a polish that I desperately wanted! Yet to justify my buying it, I was an emotional wreck. I obviously needed to put it on pretty quick.. I wasn't disappointed.

Le. Sigh. It is just exceptional. I wore this all on its own, and I received SO MANY compliments on it.. It is that captivating of a colour..

Yes, it is the most expensive polish I own (hopefully ever.. it was rough realizing what I had paid after escaping my emotion stupor) and I wish that I could say that it wasn't worth the price, that it was horrible formulation, that it was awful.. I'm sorry, my doves, I cannot. This was exquisite in every sense of the word. It applied like a dream (could have been a one coater - but you know meee!!), the brush was great, it dried wicked fast, it wasn't runny or too thick, just a real treat of a nail polish!

Now, I would be happy to add more Chanel to my collection, but it will be pretty difficult to fork about that much cash for a nail polish.. it will have to be pretty special!

Have a great Monday everyone!!

My condolences. We lost a pair of our house rabbits this year, both due to old age. When our bunnies live long lives with us, we rejoice, but it makes their leaving even harder

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Day 27: The Hungry Asian Cookies (and) Cream

Hey everyone! I decided that for today and tomorrow (my last day - eeek!) that I would choose two polish that mean something to me. Today I am going to be sharing Cookies & Cream made by the awesome Kae aka The Hungry Asian. When I first started blogging, I immediately started following her. She is the reason behind many of my polish purchases.. heh. She started "frakening" polish awhile back.. and I had a HUGE lemming for Cookies & Cream - but, at the time, she wasn't shipping to Canada. Then, when she started to ship to Canada, I would always miss the restock times.. Then I just sort of.. forgot about it. Then, a little while back, while stumbling through all the amazing gems on etsy.. I saw a photo.. I didn't need to see the seller or the name.. I knew. It was ordered almost immediately. And it has sat.. until now. It still makes me heart smile. And now that it is mine? Constant smiling heart! I decided to not use undies on this. It is

Terrazzo Inspired Nails

Hey everyone! Will speed-race past a whole 'sorry I have been away' write-up and just go straight to the goods. I apologize in advance for my VERY dry cuticles (I cleaned up as much as I could in edit mode.. but, still bad) - I have been applying oil and lotions multiple times per day for.. weeks.. and.. no beneficial results, sadly. I went with terrazzo print inspired nails for this go-round. I started with a base coat, then OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI, then, using the brush for the each nail polish, I went in with: OPI Suzi Shops & Island Hops, OPI Sailing & Nail-ing, OPI Amazon...Amazoff, China Glaze Liquid Leather, China Glaze Sweet Hook, Essie Chinchilly, Color Club Je Ne Sasi Quoi, and Sally Hansen White On - then finally topped with Seche Vite. I am hoping to slowly creep back into regularly posting new content here - so, stay tuned!
