Laid Back 31 DC - Day 1 - Black & White

Hey everyone!

Technically I am a little late on this.. I really wanted to be a part of the laid back 31 day challenge.. but, silly me, I didn't pay attention to see the start date.. Which was on Feb. 1. I really am quite dummmmb sometimes, but that is besides the point.

I knew exactly how I wanted to start the challenge.. I knew the look I wanted to go with for black and white.. then I saw that a couple of the other gals went with the same thing.. but I still really wanted to try it.. but.. why not mix it up a little? So, I did.

Products Used
Nail Life Gripper (base coat)
China Glaze Liquid Leather (black)
Orly White Out (white)
Cover Brand Sticks 'n Stones
Sponge
Dotting Tools
Pearls

I was sooo excited to use this TUTORIAL - and it is easy, effective, and excellent! I actually think this has inspired my next Valentine Day's nail look.. yup, it definitely has.

Anyways!

Thumb & middle fingers are the awesome interlocking dots, my index and pinky fingers are sponge-tipped opposite colours (you can't really see it) and then topped with some Sticks 'n Stones, and my ring finger needed to be covered in pearls. Seem logical, right?

Well, I feel a bit more relaxed now.. I'm caught up! Yay!

See you all again soooon!! Have a great night!

Oh, and check out the other participants, past & present!

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
