Laid Back 31 DC - Day 11 - Splatter

Hello everyone!!

Today is the day for splatter nails.. and I am not even going to lie, I am pretty jazzed about the whole thing! I can't even think of any lame story to start this whole post.. I just want to share the photos. Shall I?

Products Used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
OPI Can't Find My Czechbook
Orly White Out
China Glaze First Mate
Orly Glitz
Coffee Stick
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I started with a base of OPI Can't Find My Czechbook - which I should have snapped a swatch photo of, but please, take my word on it, it is lovely! Then, using a coffee stir-stick, I started off with some white polish (Orly White Out), followed with a dark blue/navy (China Glaze First Mate), and finished with some gold (Orly Glitz). Despite some random non-splattery areas (just mass blobs of polish) - I did quite like the coffee stir-stick method more so than using a straw.. I also really, really, really like this combination of colours. I have received a wealth of compliments on this particular mani.. which is rad, because I think it is great too!

Check out what others did on the splatter day of the challenge - and I will see you all again very soon. Next is my second arch-nemesis in the nail art world: the tape mani.

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Day 27: The Hungry Asian Cookies (and) Cream

Hey everyone! I decided that for today and tomorrow (my last day - eeek!) that I would choose two polish that mean something to me. Today I am going to be sharing Cookies & Cream made by the awesome Kae aka The Hungry Asian. When I first started blogging, I immediately started following her. She is the reason behind many of my polish purchases.. heh. She started "frakening" polish awhile back.. and I had a HUGE lemming for Cookies & Cream - but, at the time, she wasn't shipping to Canada. Then, when she started to ship to Canada, I would always miss the restock times.. Then I just sort of.. forgot about it. Then, a little while back, while stumbling through all the amazing gems on etsy.. I saw a photo.. I didn't need to see the seller or the name.. I knew. It was ordered almost immediately. And it has sat.. until now. It still makes me heart smile. And now that it is mine? Constant smiling heart! I decided to not use undies on this. It is

Terrazzo Inspired Nails

Hey everyone! Will speed-race past a whole 'sorry I have been away' write-up and just go straight to the goods. I apologize in advance for my VERY dry cuticles (I cleaned up as much as I could in edit mode.. but, still bad) - I have been applying oil and lotions multiple times per day for.. weeks.. and.. no beneficial results, sadly. I went with terrazzo print inspired nails for this go-round. I started with a base coat, then OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI, then, using the brush for the each nail polish, I went in with: OPI Suzi Shops & Island Hops, OPI Sailing & Nail-ing, OPI Amazon...Amazoff, China Glaze Liquid Leather, China Glaze Sweet Hook, Essie Chinchilly, Color Club Je Ne Sasi Quoi, and Sally Hansen White On - then finally topped with Seche Vite. I am hoping to slowly creep back into regularly posting new content here - so, stay tuned!
