Blued Lines

Hello everyone!! Today I bring you a post based off of THIS POST aka my favourite thing to do - find amazing photos of awesome nails via pinterest and try to re-create them (re: ruin them) my way. She used tape, and it obviously look stellar.. I didn't use tape.. Because.. Tape and I are enemies and I refuse to put up with his shenanigans! My line work looks insanely "shotty" in these photos, but I swear, in real life, from a safe distance, they look pretty professional. Ok, from a safe distance and without my glasses or contacts.. (: I used two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones as my base, then I used my little brush and some OPI Ogre The Top Blue and China Glaze First Mate. These are the nails I will be sporting to see City & Colour tonight at the Saskatoon Jazz Fest.. though now that I mention that, I do remember I was going to use the new album as inspiration and paint my nails like the CD. Gosh dangit.. Well.. we will see - I will probably just s

Clowning Around

Hey everyone! Today I bring you a post that I wouldn't normally want to share.. but what has happened has been very strange to me.. and I'm also kind of wondering if it has happened to any one else before. Notice the bubbles? They didn't show up until day two of wear. Seriously. And, there wasn't too many.. this photo was taken on day four of wear. Lots of bubbling - and, if you look at some of the glitters (like the neon yellow on my pinky) the polish underneath is being eaten away.. Weird? Again, just all the bubbling. I am not sure what happened.. Or if it was just a bad mix all around? I found this very strange because usually I'm a "speedster" when it comes to nail polish/nail art. I don't ever wait for things to dry. This time, I waited in between coats of the base white, waited for it to dry completely, then added some Clowning Around, then waited for that to dry, and then used my top coat. I don't know if I should try my normal

Darling Diva Polish Bitchcraft & Roses

Hey everyone! As I mentioned in THIS POST , I won a giveaway from Darling Diva Polish. It included Material Girl & Bitchcraft.. I have already shown Material Girl, and given the title of this post, I am pretty sure that you know that you will see Bitchcraft today. I was so frustrated with the weather here during my time of wearing this gorgeous holo polish.. Not. One. Day. With. Sun. Seriously. I had already been wearing it for 3 (maybe even 4 days) when I did take photos.. and I already had some great tip wear going on. I will have to swatch it again when we actually have a full out sunny day.. Right now, you look out, hey, sunny! Look again in 5 minutes, rain. Ugh. Though it isn't as bad as what Calgary is having to put up with. Zoiks! Anyways. On to the photos.. Here is the description from the shop.. muchos better than what I could ever say: " This has color shifting glitter like you have seen in the elytras. The shift is from blue to red. I ha

Heart Mixed Nails + Some Swatch Activity

Hey everyone!! The other evening, as I was preparing to start working on my nails - I told my sister I didn't know what to do. She asked something like 'what do you feel like doing?', and then I told her to peruse my nail inspiration board on pinterest and pick something out for me. She did. I really like her choice! She chose this PIN and then asked me how I was with making hearts. I don't think I'm too terrible at doing them.. I could have done a few less and a bit more delicate.. but me and my love of extra activity on my nails. I'm not sorry for it (: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather on my thumbs and pinkies, 2 coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff on my index fingers and my ring fingers, then 1 coat of Orly Mirror Mirror on my middle fingers followed with two coats of China Glaze Techno. Once MVIB was fairly dry, I went in with my dotting tool and some LL and made the hearts. I really enjoy mix nail manis.. Something about them not matchi

Darling Diva Polish Material Girl

Hello everyone!! A couple of weeks back, I entered to win a couple of Darling Diva Polish.. and.. surprise, surprise: I won! Yay x 100! One of the two polish I won is Material Girl.. And I have to tell you all.. I really, really like it! It is a crelly polish that had perfect formulation - as far as I am concerned. (Oh, for those that don't know, 'crelly' means the polish is a creme-jelly formula aka it is a beautiful mixture of both). I will use the description from Darling Diva Polish to explain this, because we all know how I am with explanations.. " 2 sizes of holographic silver glitters, 2 sizes of hot pink circles, and holographic pink hex glitters in 2 sizes in a pink crelly base. " At least I knew it was a crelly polish BEFORE having to resort to that description - see? I know some things (: I used 3 fairly thin coats.. What can I say? I have a heavy polishing hand. I also really enjoy that large hex glitter chunk on my index finger -

Ziploc Bag Nails

Hey everyone! I can't quite remember where I originally read up on this idea.. It is sort of a take on the "Saran Wrap Nails" that I absolutely love.. but instead, you use a ziploc bag (cut into smaller squares) and you sort of just swirl the polish around.. Which I thought was genius and that I had to try. Products Used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI Pink Friday China Glaze Rich & Famous butter London Cheeky Chops OPI What's With The Cattitude? China Glaze Sweet Hook China Glaze Fairy Dust Ziploc Bag cut into squares Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat With these nails, I started with a base of light pink, once that was dry, I dabbed some of each colour on my nail, then did a little swirl.. Some turned out better than others (ie: my middle finger looks rad while my ring finger didn't do much swirling..) to top it all off, I added some Fairy Dust, because, well, why not? A really fun method.. and not quite as messy as the saran wrap m
