Heart Mixed Nails + Some Swatch Activity

Hey everyone!!

The other evening, as I was preparing to start working on my nails - I told my sister I didn't know what to do. She asked something like 'what do you feel like doing?', and then I told her to peruse my nail inspiration board on pinterest and pick something out for me. She did. I really like her choice! She chose this PIN and then asked me how I was with making hearts. I don't think I'm too terrible at doing them.. I could have done a few less and a bit more delicate.. but me and my love of extra activity on my nails. I'm not sorry for it (:

I used 2 coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather on my thumbs and pinkies, 2 coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff on my index fingers and my ring fingers, then 1 coat of Orly Mirror Mirror on my middle fingers followed with two coats of China Glaze Techno. Once MVIB was fairly dry, I went in with my dotting tool and some LL and made the hearts.

I really enjoy mix nail manis.. Something about them not matching but working together.. Though this is a fairly "safe" mix nail mani.. I feel like I have some how just challenged myself.. Hmm..

I also just wanted to toss in some swatch photos.. I don't feel like my swatch activity is strong enough for any of these to warrant their own post. One day I will get good at it. Or not. You'll just have to keep putting up with my attempts at nail art instead. On to the photos..

This is ILNP A Nice Chianti on top of China Glaze Gaga For Green. I like this combo quite a bit because it some how makes me think of a zombie, and I think zombies are rad.. So that makes this rad! Yup.

This is Plump Polish Kyla The Great. Sigh. I really wanted to like this.. but I had so many application problems! I am going to give this polish a revisit at some point and make it look great. I promise. It makes me scared to try using Riots Not Diets. They are so pretty in the bottle.. I just had many problems making it work on my nails.. Keep your fingers crossed for next time!!

This is 3 coats of Orly Peaceful Opposition. I quite like this.. though it feels so dainty and girly.. I mean, there is nothing wrong with that.. just strangely beautiful. That is what I will go with.

I'm trying to get through my untried stash.. I swear it doesn't deplete at all. No matter what I do. And I have been pretty good with buying (er, NOT buying) nail polish right meow. One of these days I will have it whittled down to nothing. Right?!

I hope you're all having a great day - I will see you all again soon!!

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
