Pirate Polish Sea Monster

Hello everyone! If you scoped out my post from yesterday, you would have seen a lovely bottle shot of Pirate Polish Sea Monster.. And today.. You get to see it in action! It is glorious. Seriously.   Photo Box Lighting   Direct Light   Direct Light  Seriouslyyyyyyyyyy!!! Look at this absolute beauty! This is 2 coats of Sea Monster over a coat of China Glaze Liquid Leather. " Sea Monster is a mixture of different sizes of vibrant turquoise and holographic glitters in a glossy clear base, including large blue-green holographic hexagonal glitters and large square silver holographic glitter. " The chunks of square and hexagonal glitter really sell the whole thing for me. You know what - the whole polish just sells the whole thing for me. Honestly. Beautiful! You should probably scuttle over to Tara's shop and snap up a bottle for yourself right meow .. because anyone looking at this will obviously need to add this to their collection asap. I ho

Haul For The Week Of July 21-28 - Pic Heavy

Hey everyone.. I know last week, when I first mentioned the whole Swatch Sunday/Haul posts, I said to not expect them every week.. But.. um.. Well, this week is going to be a write-off. I bought a wealth of polish (ok, some of them were purchased the previous week, but just arrived to me.. you know what I mean!) Where to start.. We will start with Wednesdays goodies. My friend Jazz had contacted Tara of Pirate Polish and was like 'I'm going to be picking up two polish from her after work today...' Of course I had to get in on the action! I knew I had a wealth coming to me.. but these two polish that Jazz was going to pick up, I needed to have them. I quickly sent a text off to Tara to let her know to have another pair ready for me. I am forever grateful for my lack of will power. Mother. Of. God. Seriously! LOOK AT THESE GEMS! I may or may not have it on direct authority that a post featuring Sea Monster will be up on Monday. Just saying. This is obviously

Mimosa's Before Mani's Under The Boardwalk

Hello everyone! Today I bring you two previously untried polish of mine.. and two polish that I think are nothing short of exquisite after using them. I paired China Glaze Mimosa's Before Mani's with Joyful Noise Cosmetics Under The Boardwalk - separately, I adore both, but together, they are kind of amazing. You'll have to scope and see what I mean. Though I ask of you to please forgive my cuticles. I have been a cuticle cutter for the last.. year? I have now decided to stop clipping/picking at them all the time and just leave them as is. It is going to be a bit of a process, I know. Mimosa's Before Mani's is a peach-meets-coral colour infused with gold shimmer.. So, basically it is drool-worthy. The first coat was a little iffy, but the second coat evened everything out. It was gorgeous all on its own, but I knew I had to jazz it up some more. Under The Boardwalk is jam packed with glittery goodness! Various sizes, shapes, colours, even some bar g

The Waterfall Nails

Hey everyone! I'm sure most all of you follow The Nailasaurus' blog and all of the wonderful manis she posts. If so, then you're more than familiar with the waterfall mani that she has been doing. She put up this TUTORIAL and I figured it was time to do it for myself. I received many compliments on this.. and I really quite like the whole look. Though mine is a little rough looking, it is still pretty great! I used a base of China Glaze White on White, then did some line work with China Glaze Liquid Leather, OPI No Room For The Blues, Orly Glitz, and Ninja Polish Hanukkah Floam . Then it was all topped off with Seche Vite. I spaced some of my lines too far apart, which will be something I will pay more attention to next time - but I decided to add in the sparkle to sort of mask my mistakes to myself (other people would have no idea.. which is kind of the best thing ever!) Thanks for stopping by and taking a look - I will see you all again soon!

Blue, Dots, Gold, Oh My!

Hello everyone! I have had these photos edited and tossed to the side for at least two weeks meow. Why? Well, because my cuticles are so freaking dry that I thought it was just too gross to post. I don't even know how they photographed looking that awful - I honestly don't remember them being so awful. Must have been a really "off" day. This is your warning. My cuticles look rough, but the nails are too adorable to not post. A little while back, I came across this POST over at Little Nails, and I loved the idea of having your base colour coated over with some gold leaf and then put dots on top of that - genius! I used a base of China Glaze Sunday Funday, then I used my own handmade gold leaf top coat, and followed that with some fun time dots using China Glaze Lemon Fizz. I love this combo of not only polish, but of design - it is so fun! And it makes the dots look 3D. Despite my super dry cuticles, I figured the greatness of this whole look would outwe

Swatch Sunday + Haul

Hey everyone! I think Sundays (not every Sunday.. I don't swatch enough for that.. or shop enough for that) will be the day that I will post up any random swatch photos I happen to have as well as any new things I have purchased - whether it be make-up, clothes, jewelry, etc. The reason behind this is because I absolutely love watching those haul videos on youtube, but I don't really want to make those videos (I will stick with my random nail art video from time to time..) - anyways, hopefully any of you that might be reading it will enjoy this edition.. if not.. well, that is cool too! First up is ILNP Bad Mogwai . When this gem first arrived to me, it was broken and so was my heart. BUT! It got handled, and a new sweet baby bottle was sent my way. I could not be happier! I decided to not use a base colour when I swatched this - I wanted a real idea as to how this gem would look - and I could not be happier! Of course I really want to wear it with a yellow base, bu

Mint Mani for Talia Joy

Hey everyone! Today a wealth of nail/beauty bloggers (and, I mean, it's Talia Joy, probably a wealth of other bloggers as well) have decided to all sport mint manis in her honour. I am going to take this informational intro from Nail Polish Wars for those of you that don't know who Talia is. "For those of you who might not know, the beauty community lost one of it's most treasured members on Tuesday morning ... Talia Joy Castellano .  Talia was a beautiful thirteen year old girl who was battling two horrible forms of cancer, neuroblastoma and preleukemia. She was also a supremely talented make up and nail artist.  You might have seen her amazing appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show , where she was also made an honorary Cover Girl!" I was extremely exhausted last night and didn't know if I could get any paint on my nails.. and then I thought - this young lady was battling two forms of cancer - you get some polish on your nails in her honour! No slacki

Borsch & Borsch With Sour Cream

Hey everyone! No.. I'm not going to share my ma's expert Borsch recipe with you all (I say expert according to everyone else.. I'm not a borsch fan.. oops) - but I am going to share two Pirate Polish with you that have those names - that has to count for something! When I had contacted the owner/creator behind Pirate Polish (Tara), I told her that I was told about this nail polish called 'Borsch' and that I had to get my mitts on it. She said she had some bottles available, they just weren't listed on her shop at the time - awesome! I was going to get one. She then informed me that she had a polish called 'Borsch With Sour Cream' that was to be a new release, etc, etc - would I be interested in that too? Uh. Yeah. I have had these two gems sitting in my untried drawer some time now.. The other night I was like 'swatch them.. together..' so, I did. I'm going to snag her description for Borsch: This lacquer has a beet-red base co

Whisper Down Delainie + Giveaway!

Hello everyone! A few months ago, I helped out with an Indiegogo Campaign for Joyful Noise Cosmetics - and I chose the 'Name A Product After Me' perk. Now, with this type of perk, I really have no say in the product or what will be named after me.. I just told the awesome owner/creator Laura that I would prefer it to be nail polish. Not only did she name an awesome polish after me.. It is legitimately something that I would ask to be created. Wait until you see it! Look at that glittery goodness!! Laura lists it as being " an array of pink, teal, and green holographic glitters in small and medium sizes ". Sounds pretty good to me. AND! She called it 'Whisper Down Delainie' (side note: she spelled my name correctly.. I will forever be grateful for that - you have no idea how difficult my name proves to be for people!! It is the 'i's, I know). You can get your mitts on a bottle HERE .. Or you can scope out my giveaway activity at the bottom o

Sugar Spun

Hey everyone & Happy Canada Day! So.. textured nails.. textured nail polish.. I wasn't too keen on the whole idea - not because I think it looks bad (it looks rad) but because I know that when I wear rhinestones or studs, etc, I pick at my nails and ruin the whole mani within the span of 24 hours. I saw this awesome tutorial on The Nailasaurus the other day.. and figured I would actually give this whole sugar spun nails a go. I didn't glob polish on the side of fingers - but maybe I will try that next time.. I didn't pick them all off within 24 hours either.. kind of impressed with myself. I think I have been sporting them for almost 2 days. Yeah. Serious business! I used butter London Slapper as my base, and then butter London Cheeky Chops for the sugar spun technique. I also used a dotting tool instead of a toothpick.. Thinking back, and knowing that I'd be posting it today.. I should have used red and white.. you know.. for Canada Day. Oops! Ho
