Blue, Dots, Gold, Oh My!

Hello everyone!

I have had these photos edited and tossed to the side for at least two weeks meow. Why? Well, because my cuticles are so freaking dry that I thought it was just too gross to post. I don't even know how they photographed looking that awful - I honestly don't remember them being so awful. Must have been a really "off" day. This is your warning. My cuticles look rough, but the nails are too adorable to not post.

A little while back, I came across this POST over at Little Nails, and I loved the idea of having your base colour coated over with some gold leaf and then put dots on top of that - genius!

I used a base of China Glaze Sunday Funday, then I used my own handmade gold leaf top coat, and followed that with some fun time dots using China Glaze Lemon Fizz. I love this combo of not only polish, but of design - it is so fun! And it makes the dots look 3D.

Despite my super dry cuticles, I figured the greatness of this whole look would outweigh it.. maybe? Please?

I look forward to doing this with other colour combos - it is just delightful!

Have a fabulous day everyone - see you again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
