I Kind Of Like Galaxy Nails

A lot.

Hi everyone!

Today I will share with you the first of what I am sure will be many posts of galaxy nails for 2014. I can never sport these gems enough. And, I have said it before, but I will say it again for good measure: I honestly believe you cannot do galaxy nails incorrectly. It is impossible. Even with these gems.. the yellow-y/green-y colour I used tinged some of the polish with its strange shade, but that didn't even upset me in the end. These are just that rad. True story.

I used a small army of polish to achieve these mini-masterpieces that you see before you.. in absolutely no particular order, I used:

  • Nails Inc. Connaught Square
  • China Glaze White On White
  • China Glaze Fairy Dust (a must if you want super magical  galaxy nails!!)
  • Formula X For Sephora Zap
  • Formula X For Sephora Omni
  • Formula X For Sephora Eureka
  • China Glaze Cosmic
  • Orly Liquid Vinyl
  • Sponge
  • Dotting Tool
  • Tiny Brush

Yup. That is what I used. Plus base coat and top coat.

Actually, speaking of which.. I don't know if my combo is working out too well anymore. I chip waaay too fast meow. Like, same day fast. Yeah. Tres annoying.

Favourite base coats and top coats in the comment.. annnnd.. go!

Black Marble (sort of).

Hey everyone!

-Insert gratuitous reasoning(s) of why I have been away-

Ok, now that that is out of the way, hi!

I just realized I still have a couple post photos stocked up. Sigh. I haven't even uploaded all that is currently living on my camera. The fear is real.

That is for another day. Mayhaps this weekend.

Until then.

I think I said it at some point on my blog, but I feel like 2017 is going to be the year that I constantly do faux marble nails. Note: not watermarbling. I have given in to that failed activity far too many times.

No, I mean the classy kind of marble. You know.

This time, I did it in reverse, because, why not?

 It counts, right?

Ugh. I love it.

All right, that is all for today. See you all again soon (I promise).

Formula X The Match CLIX! Swatch Post

Hey everyone!

Last weekend, as I bopped in to Sephora to nab some retexurizing pads I was out of, I took a quick peruse of the store, as one does - but my pal that I was with had strict instructions to keep me fairly focused (that, and we had a movie starting in like.. 30 mins)

Anyways! In the back of my mind, I was also wanting a 'nude' polish because of an image I had saved from IG. Took a look at these Formula X The Match CLIX! in 'Fair/Light' and quickly made my way to the till.

My plan was to immediately swatch all of them and just post them.. but I used the blue first, was obsessed and wanted to wear it as a full mani with an accent nail - so I did the rest of my swatches with an accent nail as well - two birds, meet one stone.. all of these accent nail polishes that I used we in my untried rack. Seriously, winning.

The four colours in the set were designed to complement the skin tones specified - and I think they did an exceptional job with the fair/light shades…

Grungey Leopard Nails

Hey everyone!

Today I have some grungey leopard print nails for you.. I had a different direction I had wanted to go in last night, but then ended up with this. Not disappointed.

I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base CoatButter London High TeaOrly Liquid VinylSally Hansen Terra-CoppaAcetoneBrushDotting ToolSeche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
I did two coats of the base colour (High Tea), then I was adding "splatter" prints with black (Liquid Vinyl) but felt they were too perfect.. so.. I decided to douse them with some acetone.. then.. I just decided to "smoke" them out.. which made the nails look grungey. But. This is me. I couldn't stop there. I decided to make dots (Terra-Coppa) throughout the smokey black, then make it into leopard print. Love.

That is all for today - see you all again soon!
