My Fave Manis of 2013

Hello everyone!

In 2012, I posted my top 12 faves of 2011, and in 2013, I posted up my 13 faves for 2012.. so.. I guess that means that you can now scope my fave 14 of 2013.

I told myself I was not going to do that whole 'wow - where did the year go?!' kind of segment, but seriously, where did the year go?! It was a whirlwind year filled with many ups and downs, but I could not be more happy than I am right now. Honestly.

With that.. it is time to see what I consider my favourite manis of 2013. There are really in no particular order via favourite-ness.. and I will post a link for each photo. Enjoy! And welcome to 2014!!

I had to cut out 3 extras.. and I thought getting to 14 faves would be difficult! I did a lot of nail activity this past year that I apparently really liked. Kudos to this guy.. er.. gal.. uhh.. you know what I mean!

Black and white day of a challenge.. why not go skittles.. and why not make it count? I really like the pearl accent nail. I didn't really get to sport these 'out', so I don't know how long the pearls would have held up for.. but I think I will have to try that again some time!

 Colourful Plaid + Tutorial
I had so much fun creating these.. and.. they were so eye catching that I decided to make a tutorial for them. Some of my lines look wonky in these photos, but I don't remember thinking badly of them irl. Good times!

I just find these really pretty.

Galaxy, Dots, Studs, and Floral - oh my!
These were my birthday nails.. and I LOVE them. Everything about these nails make my heart smile.

 Colourful Gro Print
Fun, colourful, eye catching. All the parts that make a great mani in my opinion.

Green Floral Mixed Nails inspired by The Nailasaurus
I picked these yesterday to go up.. and then weirdly enough I got 4 notifications of them being pinned/re-pinned on pinterest.. I think I made a solid choice in putting these gems into my faves.

 Splatter Nails
Fun and messy to create, but the pay-off is amazing. I cannot wait to do splatter nails again!!

 Fun Rainbow Nails
Again, heart smiling type of nails.

 Red Cheetah
That RED! Ugh. Seriously.. as I say in real life, it gives me a lady boner.

 Sea Monster
This is a polish by Pirate Polish and it was too beautiful not to include. It looks this bad ass over black, that I am now wondering how great it would look on other colours.. hmm..

You really cannot go wrong with skittle nails. And pink.

 Dots & Skulls
My bestie bought me that base colour as a birthday gift, and it just screamed out dots and skulls, so that is what I did.

 Summer Gradient with Leopard Activity
Um, the picture is sufficient on this one.

Ziploc Bag Nails
Who knew you could create a cool effect using a ziploc bag? I sure didn't - but you can.

These are my picks for my favourite manis that I did for the year.. I liked a few at Christmastime, but I ran out of spots.. whoops!

Did I miss one that any of you thought was a top mani? Let me know!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Day 27: The Hungry Asian Cookies (and) Cream

Hey everyone! I decided that for today and tomorrow (my last day - eeek!) that I would choose two polish that mean something to me. Today I am going to be sharing Cookies & Cream made by the awesome Kae aka The Hungry Asian. When I first started blogging, I immediately started following her. She is the reason behind many of my polish purchases.. heh. She started "frakening" polish awhile back.. and I had a HUGE lemming for Cookies & Cream - but, at the time, she wasn't shipping to Canada. Then, when she started to ship to Canada, I would always miss the restock times.. Then I just sort of.. forgot about it. Then, a little while back, while stumbling through all the amazing gems on etsy.. I saw a photo.. I didn't need to see the seller or the name.. I knew. It was ordered almost immediately. And it has sat.. until now. It still makes me heart smile. And now that it is mine? Constant smiling heart! I decided to not use undies on this. It is

Terrazzo Inspired Nails

Hey everyone! Will speed-race past a whole 'sorry I have been away' write-up and just go straight to the goods. I apologize in advance for my VERY dry cuticles (I cleaned up as much as I could in edit mode.. but, still bad) - I have been applying oil and lotions multiple times per day for.. weeks.. and.. no beneficial results, sadly. I went with terrazzo print inspired nails for this go-round. I started with a base coat, then OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI, then, using the brush for the each nail polish, I went in with: OPI Suzi Shops & Island Hops, OPI Sailing & Nail-ing, OPI Amazon...Amazoff, China Glaze Liquid Leather, China Glaze Sweet Hook, Essie Chinchilly, Color Club Je Ne Sasi Quoi, and Sally Hansen White On - then finally topped with Seche Vite. I am hoping to slowly creep back into regularly posting new content here - so, stay tuned!
