The Baker Street Mix

Hey everyone!

It is no secret that I love blue nail polish - I am positive I have shared that fun fact many a-times.. (you know.. how green (any shade, ever) is my favourite colour, but in the nail polish world, I cannot turn down a blue!) that is still how it goes - BUT - I think Nails Inc. Baker Street is my favourite blue polish: 1. It is blue and 2. It is called Baker Street - hello?! Sherlock Holmes reference.. genius! I rest my case.

I came across this gem PHOTO via pinterest awhile back.. and thought that it would be a perfect recreation so I could bust out Baker Street.. and then I was like.. why not use some of my other top fave polishes?! Swell!

And these beauties were born. I used:
  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • Orly Liquid Vinyl
  • China Glaze White on White
  • OPI My Favorite Ornament (phew - I wrote it without using 'u'.. that was unbelievably difficult, lemme tell ya..)
  • Nails Inc. Baker Street
  • Dotting Tool
  • Poshe Top Coat

I switched up my top coat this time - I was having trouble with same-day chipping while using my beloved Seche Vite - I am hoping it is just a bad bottle or something.. I have never had a problem with it before. This combo of base and top coat gave me zero chipping - I wore these for five days before I even started to have tip wear. Good times!

I will see you all again real soon with another fun recreation - I already have it picked out.. but I am having an internal debate. I have work in a few hours, and I have naked nails.. but there is a wealth of cleaning I want to do after work.. so it doesn't make sense to polish my nails now.. but I hate having naked nails. Sigh. The dilemmas we must face..

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
