The Totally Doable I have A Life: February Nail Art Challenge 01: Glitter

Hey everyone!

The other day, while perusing through instagram, I saw that Rie of Nails And Noms had posted a photo about this February nail art challenge created by Californails (side note: I was not familiar with her before.. and now I might be kind of obsessed! Amazing blog! Scope it out!!).. I kind of glanced through it.. and then glanced at my nails. After doing some fairly intricate nail activity, only to have it ruined 2 hours later at work, I happened to be sporting a simple mani with glitter accent nails.. what is day 1? Glitter! It was overly fitting.

I obviously meant to have this posted up yesterday, but in the past 48 hours, I have worked more than I had time to sleep or just 'relax', so getting photos and a post up wasn't in my cards until today - I do apologize.

My friend Porter was over the other night.. and whipped off her sock to show me her pedi colour - and she asked if I knew what it was. She said the name was 'Suzy' something - OPI product - and of course it very well could be - but to me it looked super similar to OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. She said she had tried to find the polish for herself, but couldn't, but I showed her LPAD and she said it was quite similar and I know she can readily find this gem polish for herself.

The next day, I did my nails quite rad-ly, but ruined them at work within 2 hours.. fun times. When I got home I was like 'ehhh polish and glitter and done.. but what combo?' I immediately thought of LPAD and then butter London The Black Knight. And this was born.

Subtle, but gorgeous. And these photos were taken literally 10 minutes ago.. these gems made it through my crazy work schedule!

See you all again for day 4!!

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
