smART Nails Stencils + Spikes

Hey everyone!

Today I bring you some nail art featuring 3 never before used things to me: smART Nails stencils, nail spikes, and Orly Mirrorball.

Question: are you ready for greatness? Well, even if you are not, you're about to have your eyes assaulted by some.. here goes!

 Pretty rad, right?!

I used:
FxFS White Matter
Orly Neon Heat
Orly Mirroball
FxFS Dark Matter
smART Nails stencil in P041
Nail Spikes (bought off of ebay)
Dotting Tool

I was contacted a little while ago by a rep for smART Nails asking if I would like to try out some stencils, and I wanted to give them a whirl because.. a stencil.. for your nails? Yeah! I think it adds a fun element to those that maybe are not too keen about freehanding, and, who also might not be to great at grasping the concept of nail stamping (me?). I saw these skull stencils and knew I needed them immediately!

The usage was actually really quite easy. Just make sure that you stay patient and allow your polish to dry before applying the stencil. I, for once, showed restraint and waited - I could only imagine the goobly mess that would have occurred if I did not wait. I have a few others to test out, but so far, so good! I highly recommend them. They are always adding new designs, and they are at a good price - $1.99 for 10 stencils.

Oh, but wait! For the month of November, you can get 25% off of the purchase of the stencils. That is pretty rad! Just use the code NOV25 during checkout. There are a few avenues to check them out as well: FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, PINTEREST, YOUTUBE, and TWITTER.

As for the nail spikes.. I absoFREAKINGlutely love them. Are they something I would suggest wearing on a daily basis - or to the office? No. But for a fun night out event - like a birthday or concert, yes. Wear all the spikes!

Enjoy -- see you soon!

Neutral Dots

Hey everyone!

Long time, no blog. I have just been soso bad about getting photos of my nails.. going to try to end the year on a high note. Fingers crossed!

I apologize for how drrrry my hands/cuticles look in these photos. You know how you know that your hands are dry, but you don't think they are that bad, and maybe they aren't, but a photo makes it look 50x worse? That.

I was able to snap up this set of 4 Butter London gem polishes awhile back.. very neutral, but it had a particular shade I had been eyeing.. but that is not what I have used here, naturally.

I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
Butter London Ta-ta!
Sally Hansen White On!
Dotting Tool
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

That is all for today. I have mostly been wearing a wealth of polka dotted nail art.. there is something I want to re-visit from a couple of years back - will probably do that this weekend, and then keep going from there. Halloween is on the horizon.. so.. that will be a thing too. Take care…

Black Marble (sort of).

Hey everyone!

-Insert gratuitous reasoning(s) of why I have been away-

Ok, now that that is out of the way, hi!

I just realized I still have a couple post photos stocked up. Sigh. I haven't even uploaded all that is currently living on my camera. The fear is real.

That is for another day. Mayhaps this weekend.

Until then.

I think I said it at some point on my blog, but I feel like 2017 is going to be the year that I constantly do faux marble nails. Note: not watermarbling. I have given in to that failed activity far too many times.

No, I mean the classy kind of marble. You know.

This time, I did it in reverse, because, why not?

 It counts, right?

Ugh. I love it.

All right, that is all for today. See you all again soon (I promise).

Grungey Leopard Nails

Hey everyone!

Today I have some grungey leopard print nails for you.. I had a different direction I had wanted to go in last night, but then ended up with this. Not disappointed.

I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base CoatButter London High TeaOrly Liquid VinylSally Hansen Terra-CoppaAcetoneBrushDotting ToolSeche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
I did two coats of the base colour (High Tea), then I was adding "splatter" prints with black (Liquid Vinyl) but felt they were too perfect.. so.. I decided to douse them with some acetone.. then.. I just decided to "smoke" them out.. which made the nails look grungey. But. This is me. I couldn't stop there. I decided to make dots (Terra-Coppa) throughout the smokey black, then make it into leopard print. Love.

That is all for today - see you all again soon!
