The Totally Doable I Have A Life Challenge! Feb 11: Pastel

Hey everyone!

Getting this post up late because.. well.. I don't really have a good excuse. I did these nails a couple days ago.. I just didn't take photos and edit them until now. So. Pure laziness? Zoiks.

This pastel day screamed for the use of a ziploc bag, so that is exactly what I did. And here are the results..

 I used:

  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • China Glaze Lemon Fizz
  • Lime Crime Lavendairy
  • Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse
  • Daisy Nail Lacquer Sachet Pink
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
  • Ziploc bag, cut into small squares

I really like using the little ziploc squares to create this faux-marble kind of effect. Although I have some chips in my nails.. I think I will leave them. Also. I have no idea how to match my nails to my OOTD for the 14th. Sigh. This could be interesting. Or maybe just a 'miss' day, but still.. I will post something!

Until then, take care!

The Totally Doable I Have A Life Challenge! Feb 9: Hearts

Hey everyone!

I am just squeaking in with this entry. I really have to pay attention to dates more. Maybe I will learn that soon.. yeah.. right.. better luck next year!

Super quick.. and this is also going to my entry for the contest at Nail Polish Canada. If you can spare a moment - you should go scope out the entrants and toss in a vote!!

I used:

  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • China Glaze With Love
  • Daisy Nail Lacquer Sachet Pink
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

In my mind, this looked waaay cooler. It was a heart-take on the interlocking dot mani. Kind of a bit of a fail.. but I think the idea would still work.. I just need to come up with a better way to execute it. I think I started to get it more at the end when I did my thumb.. but it is not quite perfect. Darn!

Have a great day everyone - and see you soon!

The Totally Doable I Have A Life Challenge! Feb 7: XOXO

Hey everyone!

Does anyone else think 'Gossip Girl' when you see/hear XOXO.. no? Yes? Please?!

Well, that is what I think. That, and I also started rewatching GG as of Wednesday evening. I have missed that gem show tremendously! Anyways..

I kind of completely spaced out that today XOXO nails had to be done. Whoops! You get my 15 min from start to finish nails for today. I know I saw this idea somewhere on the internet the other day.. I forgot to save the image, and of course when I went back to look for it, I cannot find it. But. Someone will recognize this design and let me know who originated it.. so I can toss a link somewhere here, si vous plait!

I used:

China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
a england Guinevere
OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

And that is it.. no top coat.. no nothing else.. well, ok, a little brush. Quick and to the point. XOXO nails.

Now I am going to go make something to nom on whilst I watch GG before I have to get ready for work. Solid!

The Totally Doable I Have A Life Challenge! Feb 4: Dots

Hey everyone!

For this day of the challenge, it says it is polka dots day.. sooo.. basically my favourite day, EVER!

I had a photo sitting in my inspiration bin - simple dot mani using an array of colours. Of course I needed to replicate it. I do not know where the original photo is from - probably from one of the many magazine scans that I used to have on my computer. This particular image made the cut when I decided to purge my serious photo collection.

Side note: if anyone recognizes the image and knows exactly where it is from - let me know so I can give some proper credit!

Anyways.

Now, I know the image shows pastel colours - and pastel colours are amazing.. but.. I am more of a vibrant polish kind of gal.

I used:

  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • China Glaze Lemon Fizz
  • China Glaze Sweet Hook
  • Essie In The Cab-Ana
  • China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer
  • China Glaze Bottoms Up
  • A dotting tool
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

That is it for today.. I will see you all again very soon!!

The Totally Doable I have A Life: February Nail Art Challenge 01: Glitter

Hey everyone!

The other day, while perusing through instagram, I saw that Rie of Nails And Noms had posted a photo about this February nail art challenge created by Californails (side note: I was not familiar with her before.. and now I might be kind of obsessed! Amazing blog! Scope it out!!).. I kind of glanced through it.. and then glanced at my nails. After doing some fairly intricate nail activity, only to have it ruined 2 hours later at work, I happened to be sporting a simple mani with glitter accent nails.. what is day 1? Glitter! It was overly fitting.

I obviously meant to have this posted up yesterday, but in the past 48 hours, I have worked more than I had time to sleep or just 'relax', so getting photos and a post up wasn't in my cards until today - I do apologize.

My friend Porter was over the other night.. and whipped off her sock to show me her pedi colour - and she asked if I knew what it was. She said the name was 'Suzy' something - OPI product - and of course it very well could be - but to me it looked super similar to OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. She said she had tried to find the polish for herself, but couldn't, but I showed her LPAD and she said it was quite similar and I know she can readily find this gem polish for herself.

The next day, I did my nails quite rad-ly, but ruined them at work within 2 hours.. fun times. When I got home I was like 'ehhh polish and glitter and done.. but what combo?' I immediately thought of LPAD and then butter London The Black Knight. And this was born.

Subtle, but gorgeous. And these photos were taken literally 10 minutes ago.. these gems made it through my crazy work schedule!

See you all again for day 4!!
