Pineapple Mani + Summer Nail Art Challenge Entry

Hey everyone!

I came across a tutorial for some seriously adorable nails.. and I knew I had to copy them immediately because the nails featured pineapples, and to me, pineapples scream summer.. and.. well, it is summer right now, so, it was basically the perfect time. Makes sense, right?!

I followed THIS TUTORIAL for the most part.. kind of took my own spin, but that is usually how that works, for me anyways..

Then, once they were done, I thought to myself: 'there is too much blank space', and I quickly added in some pink dots. Perfection!

I used:

  • Duri Rejuvacote (base coat)
  • China Glaze Sweet Hook
  • Sally Hanse Pacific Blue
  • Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse
  • China Glaze Fairy Dust
  • Fan Brush
  • HK Girl Glisten & Glow
Also, the day I was first sporting these nails, I got a message from Nail Polish Canada about a Summer Nail Art Challenge - ahh fitting, these are a perfect entry for that! Two birds, meet one stone.

I did receive sooo many compliments on these nails! I even received a few comments asking if they were jamberry nails, and then when they found out I did them myself, they were sad because they wanted to order them. Ahh.. good times!

That is all for now -- see you all again soon!!

P.S -- if you have looked at these and thought 'hey, these are actually quite cute!' then maybe you could spare another moment, head on over HERE, and give me a little vote-ski? That would be rad!

Mod Cloth Bubbly Beverage Dress

Hey everyone!

The other day, I was contacted by a ModStylist over at ModCloth and asked if I wanted to participate in a nail art challenge; the challenge? To do a design based off of one of the zillion dresses currently offered on the website. Uhh, yeah, I would love to do that!

Unfortunately, I had a very busy weekend and the post is due up by Monday, but I was able to sit down earlier and really go through the dresses that I had selected as inspiration. Then I figured I would choose a dress that I would absolutely, 100% wear. Then it was easy. Something black.. with white.. and dots! There were a few options, but I went with the Bubbly Beverage Dress.

At first, I did most of the nails just featuring one of the dot designs.. which was large dots with mini black dots running throughout, medium dots, and small dots. I was fairly happy with it.. then I decided that each nail should feature all dot designs (except for my pinky) and in the same triangular fashion. Awesome. I liked where I was going.. thhhhen.. I was like 'duh, I would definitely add in a pop of red', quickly change my ring finger to an accent nail of red. Perfect. This is how I would paint my nails if I owned this dress. Actually, I would sport these nails at any point in time.

I used:

  • Duri Rejuvacote (base coat)
  • Formula X for Sephora Dark Matter
  • Formula X for Sephora White Matter
  • piCture pOlish O'Hara
  • HK Girl Glisten & Glow
  • Various dotting tools
  • Tiny Brush

Now my question for all of you: what would be your choice of dress from the website, and how would you paint your nails? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Take care until next time!!

The Great Polish Giveaway of 2014

Hey everyone!

Clearly if you're here, you're like me, and either absolutely love nail polish, or at least have a slight fondness for it. As long as I am going with that assumption, I am also going to say that you also love a giveaway.. and it is even better if it is a giveaway of nail polish! I know my eyes bugged out a bit when I received this e-mail from Nail Polish Canada talking about a ginormous giveaway - that only grows with the help of bloggers. Duh. Of course I am going to put in my two cents!!

I was asked to bring attention to this already rad giveaway, and then to nominate a polish - sure, I have zero problems with that.

The polish I choose to nominate for this giveaway is piCture pOlish Honey Dew. Why? 1. It is a shade of green. 2. It is bright. 3. It screams summer. 4. I don't own it, and that makes me really sad. I mean, look at it!

The more bloggers that get involved, the larger the prize gets.. how bad ass is that? I cannot wait to see other posts and see what other bloggers are nominating.. although I am kind of scared for my wallet.. unless I win, of course. Then I will have to possibly worry about more storage - I can definitely handle that!!

I will post up a couple items here.. one is a rafflecopter entry form, and the other is a button that keeps tabs on the growing giveaway prize. Pretty neat, right?!
