TTDIHALC - January - Day 2 - Fresh

Hey everyone!

When I decided to do this #nailartjan challenge, the very first prompt, I was like 'err.. fresh? wat.' Then I was like 'ok, fresh.. like.. flowers.. so floral print', then I realized I did not want to have floral nails be my first nails of this new year. Nothing against them, I just.. yeah, was not feeling it.

Then I was like 'fresh.. like.. so fresh and so clean-clean', yes, I did rap.. err.. speak some Outkast lyrics in my mind. Then it dawned on me 'fresh, like.. squeaky clean.. bubbles.. got it!' I had literally just screen capped an amazing mani photo and this was the perfect time to recreate it.

Without further ado, I give you my take on 'fresh' nails. I used THIS PHOTO for my inspiration. They were created by nailaddictart (found on instagram).

I absolutely adore these! I think they scream 'fresh'. Freshly painted.. a fresh white.. bubbles.. commme on! Perfecto!

I used:
G&G Stuck on Blu!
China Glaze White on White
Some pearls gems

I did two coats of white, then dabbed on some more base coat and just applied the pearl gems at random.. and until I was happy.

Remember to go scope out all the other rad nail art using the '#nailartjan' hashtag.. because there are bound to be amazing photos to drool over! Or, if you happen to be looking at this, let me know you are participating so I can go scope immediately.. I love that!

See you again in a couple of days!!

Black Marble (sort of).

Hey everyone!

-Insert gratuitous reasoning(s) of why I have been away-

Ok, now that that is out of the way, hi!

I just realized I still have a couple post photos stocked up. Sigh. I haven't even uploaded all that is currently living on my camera. The fear is real.

That is for another day. Mayhaps this weekend.

Until then.

I think I said it at some point on my blog, but I feel like 2017 is going to be the year that I constantly do faux marble nails. Note: not watermarbling. I have given in to that failed activity far too many times.

No, I mean the classy kind of marble. You know.

This time, I did it in reverse, because, why not?

 It counts, right?

Ugh. I love it.

All right, that is all for today. See you all again soon (I promise).

Formula X The Match CLIX! Swatch Post

Hey everyone!

Last weekend, as I bopped in to Sephora to nab some retexurizing pads I was out of, I took a quick peruse of the store, as one does - but my pal that I was with had strict instructions to keep me fairly focused (that, and we had a movie starting in like.. 30 mins)

Anyways! In the back of my mind, I was also wanting a 'nude' polish because of an image I had saved from IG. Took a look at these Formula X The Match CLIX! in 'Fair/Light' and quickly made my way to the till.

My plan was to immediately swatch all of them and just post them.. but I used the blue first, was obsessed and wanted to wear it as a full mani with an accent nail - so I did the rest of my swatches with an accent nail as well - two birds, meet one stone.. all of these accent nail polishes that I used we in my untried rack. Seriously, winning.

The four colours in the set were designed to complement the skin tones specified - and I think they did an exceptional job with the fair/light shades…

Grungey Leopard Nails

Hey everyone!

Today I have some grungey leopard print nails for you.. I had a different direction I had wanted to go in last night, but then ended up with this. Not disappointed.

I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base CoatButter London High TeaOrly Liquid VinylSally Hansen Terra-CoppaAcetoneBrushDotting ToolSeche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
I did two coats of the base colour (High Tea), then I was adding "splatter" prints with black (Liquid Vinyl) but felt they were too perfect.. so.. I decided to douse them with some acetone.. then.. I just decided to "smoke" them out.. which made the nails look grungey. But. This is me. I couldn't stop there. I decided to make dots (Terra-Coppa) throughout the smokey black, then make it into leopard print. Love.

That is all for today - see you all again soon!
